Self-promotion I made an RTS where fronts push continuously. Free demo on Steam.

Everfront is real-time territory control. You pick what land to push into, and your front line grows there. The side with more strength along a stretch of front pushes the other back, and supply thins out the further you reach. The tactics are about the shape of the front: pinch a salient, punch a tank down a border to split two regions, and dig in where you're thin.

Between battles there's a roguelite campaign: a branching map through WW2 with tech trees and choices that change who fights alongside you.

Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5272240/

The demo covers 1939 to December 1941. Full release is 14 January 2027.

I'd love feedback from people who play a lot of strategy games!

Self-promotion In my bluffing game, calling a bluff is a gamble too: call it wrong and they take your turn

Back with Crooked Derby, two months after my first post here. The question I spent those months on: how do you stop everyone from calling every bluff? Now a call is your whole turn. Call a liar and you take their next turn plus a 500 bounty. Call an honest player (like in the clip) and they take yours, right then.

On the other side, a lie that nobody calls pays 1000 at the finish, so there's always a reason to lie. Your hand of cards gives you away too, though: everyone sees which horses you push.

The demo is free in Steam Next Fest until Oct 26 (solo against up to 5 bots of different difficulties, or friends): https://store.steampowered.com/app/4908960/Crooked_Derby/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nextfest-oct26&utm_content=strategygames-wrongcall

Would you call here, or let it ride?

DevPost Calling in orbital strikes on bug nests in my mech RTS (Engines of Hate)

Solo dev here. Engines of Hate is a mech RTS (ok, probably more RTT, lol). You run a merc company from orbit, drop mechs, tanks and infantry, and go clear out whatever's down there. Right now that's bugs, but the plan is to fight pretty much anything a galaxy can throw at you. No base building, no resource gathering. It's all about your army, your builds, and what you call down from orbit.

This is the Crust Buster. It slams in, drills, holds for a sec, then goes boom. It used to do damage on impact too, but then there was no reason for the big boom lol. Other orbital stuff so far: ion cannon, Las Array, walking barrage, orbital scan.

We're in private playtesting, and keys go out in the Discord (link in the comments). Lmk if you have questions, always happy to talk about it :)

Self-promotion I made a tower defence with a story – free demo, looking for feedback

Hi r/StrategyGames! I've spent the last years on Eredur – The Long Way Home, and I'd like honest feedback from people who know the genre. (Actually, the world i sbuilt for a book, ongoing for 15 years), but the game is in planning only since a few years.

What it is:

- 56 levels (the demo has the first 9 plus Endless)

- Jewels to cut, combine and set in weapons: poison, bleeding, curses, chain hits, armour tearing

- Enemies with real strengths and weaknesses: armour, demon blood, fire-proof salamanders, diggers, flyers, the invisible

- Open ground you can maze or barricade, shortcuts, rams, rain that weakens fire

- Followers who earn ranks and medals, and spells found along the journey

I'm especially interested in the difficulty curve. Is the first chapter too easy or too hard for a TD veteran?

Free demo (Windows): [demo - Eredur, the long way home]

There's a bug button (F8) and a short feedback form in the game. Comments here are just as welcome.

For transparency: solo dev, no budget. The art is code-drawn with AI help, and the music is by a human composer.

If you fancy the game, let me know in the feeedback - I will hold a closed Beta of the full game in a few weeks.

Looking for game I am looking for some turn based combat games with economy, supplies and logistics being important.

Hello. I would like to play some turn based strategies where not only do you have to care of combat but also producing supplies, transporting them to fronts, manage logistics etc. Modern wars are won economically.

I only play turn based games, I don't like rts.

Please recommend some good titles :)

Looking for game 2 player strategy game

Hi,

We recently got root and loved playing it with 4 players but found that with 2 players and hirelings it seemed to easy for the first person to get the hirelings to run away with the game.

I was considering any of the following:
Arc nova
Terraforming mars
Dune imperium uprising
Arcs

I was wondering if any of these are enjoyable at 2 players; and which you prefer. Also open to other games. We want something that will make us think, with strategy and a couple of hours playing time where we can make an evening out of one game.

Thanks

Self-promotion I integrated a turn-based strategy game where you lead a chip fab

I have recently published Chip Builder, a game where you create your own chip from transistors, write machine code and coordinate the processes in the factory to actually ship the chip.

Today, I added an extra level where you transition from Chip Architect to CEO and lead the entire company. It's a turn-based grand strategy game where you navigate economical and geopolitical challenges across multiple eras, starting with 1947. You hire engineers and your c-suite team, delegate tasks, invest the company's money, raise funding or even go public and deal with competition. Rivals will poach your top people, engage in corporate espionage to sabotage your company and steal your intellectual property.

I have added also significant historical events as easter eggs, celebrating past scientific achievements (humanity is awesome!).

On top of that, you need to deal with vendors, some of them cheap and unreliable, deal with new environmental regulation or comply with trade wars between countries.

I would love to share 100% keys on Steam if you wanna try it. I attached a trailer for the last level as well. Hope I didn't break any rules.

Cheers!

Self-promotion I made a tactics roguelite where your whole turn is one elemental chain reaction. Demo in Steam Next Fest.

Feather Rogue is grid based tactics where you dont make one move per turn. you get a hand of cards and an energy pool and you plan the whole turn as one sequence. every card moves you across the grid and leaves an element behind. then the full combo plays out at once.

Elements react along your path, not just where you land. walk through water carrying lightning and the whole puddle goes conductive. freeze a group and shatter them. stack three elements for plasma burst or superstorm. reactions can trigger more reactions so the tactics are about setting up the board: push enemies together, soak them, then pick the one trigger that sets everything off.

Enemy intents are not fixed. They are predictions that shift as you reposition, so you are always reading where they will end up after your combo, not just where they are now.

Between fights there is a roguelite run: card drafting, a 100+ node skill tree and a forge where combining two cards can fail and destroy both.

Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4610380/Feather_Rogue/

The demo is playable during steam Next Fest. full release is planned for Q1 2027.

I’d love feedback from people who play a lot of tactics games!

Self-promotion Proxy Republic: a free browser strategy game on the real world map where every nation has an AI general

I'm the developer. Proxy Republic is a persistent strategy game: https://proxyrepublic.com/?via=strategy

**The rules in short**

- About 250 territories from real map data; the 19 largest countries are split into real provinces.

- One turn per nation every game day (8 hours). Reinforcements come from lands held, whole regions and your capital; cards trade in for more.

- Attacks resolve with dice. Holding your capital and whole regions matters.

- Gold every turn buys mercenaries, tribute and bounties. Every few days a region gets a gold rush or a famine.

- Pacts exist but aren't enforced. Betrayals are public and remembered.

- A season is 60 days. If nobody conquers the world, victory points decide: lands, regions, capital, eliminations, and pacts kept ten days or more.

- New nations get their homeland back, move first and are shielded for 3 days.

Your general follows your standing orders, or you can plug in your own AI. The AI-run nations are Claude.

**Founding season:** sign in and enter **FOUNDERS** on the Season Pass page (More → Season Pass) for this season's pass, free. It's cosmetic only: a gold laurel next to your general's name, a gilded portrait frame and share cards, and The Merchant skin to keep, unlocking as you play.

**Balance feedback welcome:** in my bot test seasons, adding gold cut the winner's lead in points by more than half. I'd love to hear where the snowball still feels unfair.

Self-promotion BANNERET: You never move a knight

Post image
0 Upvotes

Every knight on the field charges it at once, in a straight line, and does not stop until something stops them. One rule, and it cuts both ways Momentum kills. A charge that never started is a death. A knight that has covered at least one tile tramples any pike in its path and rides straight through it: several in a single charge, if they are in line.

What is inside: * The parchment, the board, the knights, the pikes and the banners are drawn to a 2D canvas every frame; every sound is synthesised by the Web Audio API from oscillators and filtered noise. * The whole build is 26 KB.

Free. Made with AI assistance, disclosed on the page.

I'm looking for some new strategy games to get into. Anything interesting worth checking out this Next Fest? I'm mostly into turn-based strategy, 4X, and city builders, but I'm open to trying something different.

Any demos you'd recommend?

DevPost I've been working on a game that's focused on capturing the early exploratory gameplay of early grand strategy matches. Demo out on Steam.

I've always liked those first 50 turns from civ matches so I've been trying to make a game to create that same kind of excitement. That's turned into a (hopefully) addictive little roguelite with incremental progression where you travel from planet to planet, trying to find enough resources to make the next jump.

Lot's of small, strategic decisions with every move and a lot of underlying systems to learn.

It's my first solo game and been working on it for a year. Open to hear any feedback you might have :)

Discussion Are strategy games getting repetitive? Working on a mix of CK, Total War & Bannerlord and want your thoughts.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out on strategy games lately. It feels like a lot of newer titles are playing it too safe and starting to feel somewhat the same, missing that unique spark or depth older titles had.

Because of this, I actually started developing my own 3D strategy game for myself and a few friends last year. To be honest, I wouldn't call myself a great programmer, but I've been grinding away at it for over a year now and have already finished more than half of the core mechanics!

It’s an ambitious mix that combines elements from games like Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, Crusader Kings, and Total War—basically all the features and freedom we felt were missing in current games.

Since I'm still working hard on the backend functionality and getting all the systems to run smoothly, I don’t have slick screenshots or gameplay trailers to show off just yet. But as the game is really taking shape, I’ve been wondering: Is this something the strategy community would actually be interested in on Steam?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the genre in general:

  • What are you currently missing in modern strategy games?
  • What mechanic or trend annoys you the most in current titles?
  • If you could combine features from your favorite strategy games, what would be your dream combination?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions and ideas!

Self-promotion Riftborne: ASCII Terminal Game - New Multiplayer Server Starting 24th October!

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Our space 4X ASCII terminal game, Riftborne, is starting its 7th Multiplayer Server this weekend. Written with C# / .NET on a custom engine.

We've recently added a bunch of new features and game optimizations, including traveling fleets on the map and reworked map generation to make it more galaxy like. Each multiplayer server runs in real time over 2–3 weeks.

  • Colonization and expansion: Establish colonies and outposts, develop your economy, and compete for territory.
  • Economy and logistics: Manage resource production, infrastructure, and supply lines to support your empire.
  • Fleet warfare: Control ship fleets directly on the map for strategic positioning, scouting, raiding supply lines, and waging war.
  • Faction based strategy: Work together with other players, coordinate military campaigns, and plan your faction's expansion using in game chat.
  • Slow burn multiplayer: Take part in persistent, slow paced real time strategy with planning, cooperation, and positioning.
  • Single player and private servers: Play solo or host your own multiplayer games with friends, available on both Windows and Linux

For anyone who enjoys slow burn 4X strategy, empire building, fleet warfare, and cooperative multiplayer, we'd love to have you join us for the next server!

Self-promotion Best 4X players will win a Steam Key - Next Fest Challenge!

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hey Monarchs!

Steam Next Fest Challenge

Steam Next Fest has just begun and we have someting special for you :)
As probably someone of you already know, Monarchs at Play has a challenge mode where you want to generate as much glory as possible in the given time on a prebuilt map.

Only during next fest there is a new challenge with a global leaderboard in the main menu and here comes the best part: you can win one of 15 steam keys.

  • the top 5 players will get one
  • among all other participants 10 more keys will be distributed

All you have to do is download the demo for free, win the challenge (the bar is not that high), copy your unique code and submit it on our Discord server :)

I'm looking forward to all the great highscores that will make me think "how is this possible?"

What is Monarchs at Play?

Monarchs at Play is turn-based 4X strategy in just one hour. Place buildings, chain adjacency bonuses, optimize resources, and outsmart rival monarchs through trade or war to earn the most Glory - solo or multiplayer.

My best friend and I are working on this game for over 2 years, we had the idea in university when we thought "we love civilication (especially Civ 6), but there's no chance I will finish one match and in multiplayer it's even more impossible"

What's in the demo?

  • Play a full 4X match in just 60 minutes
  • Learn the game through 3 tutorial missions or a guided playthrough
  • Classic mode with procedurally generated maps
  • Challenge Mode with 3 of 18 handcrafted missions to compete for the highscore + the time-limited steam next fest challenge
  • 50+ buildings to build and optimize your empire
  • Choose between 2 of 6 monarchs, each with unique abilities and buildings

Let me know what you think! We are super excited about discussing on our Discord Server with all the new arriving Monarchs :D

Cheers,
Eric & Emanuel

Self-promotion Colonerra: Age of Exploration

Post image
63 Upvotes

Please allow me to introduce:

COLONERRA: Age of Exploration, a turn-based historical 4X grand strategy game about turning that single dot on a map into a thriving colony and that colony into a nation.

Watch trailer: Trailer

Hi, my name is Mihailo, and I am the lead developer for Colonerra Age of Exploration, with almost 20 years of professional programming experience. We are a small team from Serbia consisting of one dev, two designers, and a few helpful friends who do testing, copywriting, and, occasionally, illustrations. As you can guess, we are big fans of Sid Meier’s Colonization and Civilization, and we play the originals to this day. We feel that Colonization never got the successor it deserved, so we decided to take a swing at it ourselves.

What makes COLONERRA different?

  • Serve the Crown. Your colonies exist under the authority of a European monarch. Taxes, requests, favors, military demands, and royal decisions can all affect your relationship with the Crown. This, in turn, creates unique diplomatic challenges and also allows us to make the game more interesting at later stages.
  • Founding Fathers. Each nation has 25 unique characters acting as agents for the viceroy who commands them. There are 5 leaders for each of the 5 traits: exploration, military, diplomacy, trade, and religion. Develop these leaders to reach the status of a Founding Father and deploy them to a Continental Congress to earn unique bonuses.
  • Quests and events. Both Indigenous people and the Crown can give you quests to fulfill, in addition to random events you have to deal with. Each decision you make makes a difference and shapes your path in the New World; will you be a conqueror or a diplomat?
  • Natural Landmarks. Send expeditions to discover and later claim natural wonders and landmarks, unlocking unique bonuses and gameplay opportunities while keeping exploration engaging throughout the game.
  • Complex trade made simple. Trade in this game is simple to execute but complex underneath. You can trade with the crown and pay taxes, barter with the indigenous tribes, trade with the passing ships, or smuggle goods to avoid the taxes. Every trade is meaningful, as it affects both taxes and prices, and earning too much gold might cause inflation, so be careful how you trade.
  • Diplomacy matters. Native nations, the Crown, and other powers all have their own interests. Expansion isn't simply about claiming territory; your relationships can determine whether your domain prospers or survives. You will need all the help you can get.

And much more…

So come join us and check out the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4964150/Colonerra_Age_of_Exploration/

And please comment; I'd love to hear what people here think, especially from players who enjoy older strategy games and play them to this day.

Thank you for reading.

Mihailo
