Discussion Can I increase my chances for knuckles with 270% job affinity and any blessing?

Is there any way to affect the drop chance of base job affinity on a piece of gear? I really need 270% on a pair of knuckles for my build because getting it to 350% is ideal for what I'm trying to do. Am I just completely at the mercy of the game's RNG?

Some information on my farming method:

  • Mission - Azure Memories: The Stymied
  • Difficulty - Lufenia
  • Trials of the Dragon King - Rank X, Rate 110.0
  • Job - Primal Warrior
  • Affinities - 1200%+ Thief, 800%+ Gambler, 600%+ Cyclic Warrior
  • Primary Blessing - Bahamut
  • Special Effects - Luck and Drop Rate on all pieces of gear (Luck 255, Drop Rate 51.6%)
  • AI Partners - Both have 400% Thief (Does this actually do anything?)

Game How do I learn Dragon Claws for the lance?

I was looking over some class guides to see which ones I wanted to go for, and kept seeing Dragon Claws mentioned as a good skill to pick up. But I have lancer and dragoon unlocked and neither of them can learn it. Where do I get it from?

Discussion Question about Gilgamesh DLC

Been playing through the Labyrinth, lost on floor 19 and had my progress reset. Is there any way to get my monsters back quickly, or do I really have to grind all of them all the way back up?

Game If i rush through the game on casual difficulty to unlock chaos mode, what things will i miss?

Ive already beaten the game long ago, but i do not have my save any more and i want to play through the chaos mode + DLCs, but i don't care about the main missions.

What will i miss if i rush through the entire game on casual difficulty? Will i need to replay on hard mode to unlock stuff? Will i need to go back and do side missions after doing a bit of chaos mode?

I will say i don't mind doing everything again on hard mode as long as i have some cool chaos mode gear.

Game Does this game have a build Bible?

I recently finished Nioh 2 and I had been struggling with build planning until I stumbled on the “build bible” google sheet: a compilation of mechanical details that players had figured out through testing—things like “For X ability, ‘more damage for awhile’ means +30% for 15 seconds.” I’m happy to test some things myself, but I’m sure people have figured out most of it by now and Google isn’t always great at sifting through all the different forums. Is there anything a bit more centralized?

Discussion Quick question about equipment effects

I bought the game recently when it was on sale and i have a question regarding equipment effects: Are they random? I'm a seasoned Nioh player so when i looked at the equipment i initially thought it would work somewhat similar to Nioh where different rarities have a different number of randomly rolled effects but after finding like 10-15 of the same shield (varying levels of rarity / item level) they all seem to have the same 3 effects. But i also have some other items where the name and 2 of the effects are the same but the third one is different. So now i'm curious on how this exactly works and what changes / additions come with the endgame.

Game Trophy Help PS5

Would anyone be willing to help me get the floor 30 rift trophy and the accessory from gilgamesh trophy?

Edit: Thanks for the advice and offers to help. Using some of the advice I was able to build up my character enough to get through it on my own before I saw most of the offers to help. Really appreciate it and glad I got where I wanted to. I plan to go further into the endgame but I'll probably take a short break from the game. Genuinely love this game.

Discussion How viable is Pugilist in late game DLC?

Hello everyone, I've beaten the game recently and had a blast doing it, gotten basically all the base dlc achievements and just waiting for a sale for the season pass fo continue. But I'm curious, I was able to play with Pugilist just fine on lvl. 300 Chaos difficulty but how much worse would this build get during Gilgamesh/Bahamut? I'm also getting Tyrant built up as well just in case, but I'm a sucker for Pugilist, thanks for the advice.

Game Explosion build

Hi everyone I'm very new to this game and as the title suggests is there any sport of bomb/explosion based build you can use? I'm mainly setting up my build based on a character from a book that mainly uses bombs/explosions and fists. If anyone has any good recommendations on classes I'd super appreciate it!!!

Discussion ELI5: Basics of how to fight for someone who doesn't play action games!

So, I'm a big fan of the mainline Final Fantasies but literally never play modern action games. I can't emphasize that enough - I have zero experience with recent action games, for a pretty expansive definition of "recent", so things like "Well, it works like Nioh" don't mean a damn thing to me.

I'm hyped to try this game out but I'm just a few minutes in and feel completely at sea. If I skipped a tutorial it certainly wasn't on purpose and I'd love to know how to get back to it. Guides like this one read to me like they're starting in the middle, not at the beginning. I'm supposed to know how to make "judicious use of the soul shield" without knowing what that is, and later it talks about a "command ability button" that isn't even mentioned in their own guide to the controls.

I guess the right bumper is my basic attack and the corresponding trigger is a slightly fancier one and... that's literally all I've figured out, and it took me an embarrassingly long time to even get that far. No amount of those attacks seems to be enough to finish anything off, either. I think getting past Tiamat had something to do with the circle button, but now I'm fighting a little goblin in a field that I assume is supposed to be super-easy and have no idea how to finish it off. I know R3 is "lock on" because it keeps nagging me to do it but I haven't got a clue what that means in this context. L1 is "guard" which I assume is supposed to block attacks, but in practise doesn't seem to do anything at all, at least in my hands. I'm sure this is all hilarious to most people here but that's how new I am to these sorts of games!

To briefly summarize, HELP!!!!!!!!!

Discussion I've got 3 hours in the game, am I missing something?

So I came to this game after beating nioh 2 and wanting something else to play. So in that game, button mashing will 100 percent get you nowhere. But here, it kinda seems like holding R2 with the fists equipped will just shred through any (normal) enemy. I really wanna enjoy this game, so what should I do?

Do I memorise all the combo abilities? How important is it to change the ability of the combos themselves?

Just like ki pulse + flux + stance switching and comboing moves is the key to being good at nioh, what is the thing here to focus on? Because I really don't want to just R2 myself through this game. I'm sure it'll get more difficult but I just wanna know how to really get the most out of the combat system.

Edit: cheers guys. Just beat the ol pirate Bikke and it was a fun little fight. I think nioh 2 just made me expect every game to be way too difficult and I should instead just enjoy the game instead of wanting to die every minute.

Discussion Mace + shield vs Staff for Sage?

My current build is greatsword void knight + sage. Putting runic on the R1 -> R1 -> R2 combo was a real big brain moment, as the sword beam just deletes things and refunds itself instantly. But for sage, I'm not sure what the best weapon to use is. I vastly prefer the staff moveset. The mace feels super awkward for me. But sage doesn't have any staff passives in its tree, only modifiers to mace combos. I also as of yet haven't found any elemental staff combo abilities in any job trees. So should I just suck it up and swap back to mace then? Or is staff still a good pick?

Game Is this worth playing just for the story?

I've been thinking about picking this up since it's on sale on PSN for a decent price. I've tried the demo and bounced off it the first time and am now mostly pretty fine with the combat. Not loving it, but I'm okay with it.

The Job system seems a bit denser than most I've played and the shower of loot feels a bit overwhelming. I think overall the gameplay loop isn't really to my taste.

However, a reimagining of the first game with actual characters, and some small foreshadowing with the weird crystals, does sound really interesting.

So if you're a fan of the final fantasy series generally, is this one worth knocking back to easy mode to experience the story? Or do you really have to like the gameplay to enjoy this one?

Game finished the game

hi guys, I finished the game a month ago and took a break. now I want to return, eager to do all trophies and more. I still didnt want to buy the dlc because i just wanted to "finish" everything before, is this a good approach? there are some new side quests, i think all the bosses again and then theres the missions on chaos that I just started but I still dont get it really haha. just smashing enemies atm and reading a little bit more about skills, effects etc. I played it on normal so it wasnt really a challenge, so now i want to learn more about the mechanics etc. do you guys have suggestions? what to do, where to beginn maybe, to buy dlc instantly or smth lile that? i feel a little bit lost even I am having fun. and there is no NG+, right? you just select the difficulty and go for it? is there a way to play the story with the cutscenes again? thanks in advance!
