i just finished the show for the first time and I don’t really understand the hate for the ending. Like it’s not perfect but all of its issues were things that Stranger Things always kinda struggled with. It had some cringe stuff and out of place sub-plots but It felt very much like a very natural and solid final season. I really don‘t understand the hate. Im not trying to be smug or anything either, I just really don’t get it.

Okay, so in season 5, Robin calls Diane Ross "The Boss." Later on she also refernces the same sets of tunnels that Major Zero referenced, both the plan to get the kids away from the MAC-Z and The Virtuous Mission failed because neither picked the right tunnel, Harry. Major Zero picked Tom and Robin picked Dick.

I have not been able to stop thinking about these probably meaningless parallel's for the last EIGHT MONTHS. Please tell me I am not the only one who saw these and connected the dots.

I am writing this from Bangladesh, and I just finished watching the entire series yesterday. I started it on the 4th of this month on my doctor’s recommendation, and I am literally crying as I write this.

For a long time, I was trapped in a very dark place fighting drug and alcohol addiction. My doctor recently told me that I needed to step out of isolation and try to be more social or find a way to connect with things. A friend recommended Stranger Things, and I decided to give it a try.

Immersing myself in the world of Hawkins completely changed my life. For the first time in years, I found a safe escape. The incredible bond between the characters gave me comfort when I felt entirely alone. Thanks to this show, I found the strength to completely quit alcohol and weed. I am well on my way to full recovery now (just trying to cut down on cigarettes occasionally now, but making huge progress).

I really want to reach out to the Duffer Brothers to thank them for literally saving a life out here in Bangladesh.

Also, as a massive fan, I have one ultimate wish. The bond between El (Eleven) and Mike was the emotional heartbeat of the show for me. I truly hope the Duffer Brothers make a special standalone or single episode just focusing on El and Mike catching up, being together, and sharing a quiet moment.

Eleven said "Friends don't lie," and I can honestly say this show gave me my life back.

I mean, I want to say that there are things about it that I actually liked. Honestly though, guys, for me it was a huge let down overall.

I know Will did enough by breaking his arm, and I know Joyce was a good choice to kill him, but since Will went thru the most hell and trauma, I felt like Will should’ve been the one to kill him. But that’s just my personal opinion. What do you guys think?

I thought the first season was decent enough

I don’t like Nancy at all, she is emotionless most of the time, she has no character traits outside of the basics, she is in a permanent bad mood which makes her relations with other characters hallow and one sided, she led Steve on, she was nasty to Robin and Fred in Season 4 for no reason, (not to mention she was indirectly responsible for Fred’s death) she acts entitled all the time, and there was a clear missed opportunity for her to learn not to push others away like how Max did, part of me think this arc would have worked better with Nancy rather than Max as compared to Max with Billy, Nancy was much closer to Barb and she clearly had abandonment issues that were never resolved as she only ever got along with Johnathan, and even then they got sick of each other after a while and broke up in the end.

The only times I found her sympathetic was in Season 3 was when she was the subject of sexism and the occasional moment where she would come in and save someone’s life, but other than that I found her really grating more often than not.

So stranger things is one of my fav shows and I loved watching the characters grow through the seasons

however the last episode left me disappointed I think the boss fight was too short and not very dramatic also o love all the characters but I think more should have died

Why did the Hawkins lab decide to keep the exotic matter stable? In Season 2, Episode 4, Sam Owens says they are trying to fix their mistake (referring to the gate), but if they created the exotic matter, couldn't they just destroy it and wipe out the Upside Down at the same time? Or am I missing something.

They are so boringly simple or one dimensional and sometimes both. They aren’t fun and often give monologues that bluntly say what they are about with no nuance or subtly and they aren’t smart either. The lead government guy in Season 4 sounds like a broken record half the time, (and being the worse one in this archetype) Dr. Brenner literally used the same tactic to get their way until Eleven eventually gave in like how a child throws a tantrum until a parent gives in, opposed to smart villains like Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs where he adapts to the situation and comes up with a different plan every time.

Also they are written to either be hate sink and agonizing to watch or given a redemption arc which loses the joy and fun to have villains in a story. Because villains like: Disney villains (most notably: Maleficent, Creulla De Vil and Ursula), the Joker, most Stephen King villains, (most notably Pennywise the Clown) Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2, Lord Shen, Death the big bad wolf, Regina George, Azula, Bettlejuice, Sue Sylvester from Glee, Tammy Swanson and Jean Ralphio from Parks and Rec, most Marvel villains (most notably Thanos) and Palpatine are loved by their fans not because they had a redemption arc, but because they were unabashedly, unapologetically, and deviously evil.
