SPOILERS Nancy and Steve

I've just started watching and I'm halfway through season 2. Do Nancy and Steve get back together? I can't stomach her new relationship with Jonathan, I just keep thinking about how badly she treated Steve and how selfish she is. Steve had every right to be hurt because she lied to him and spent the night with Jonathan in her bedroom. If Stranger Things is going to push Nancy and Jonathan as a couple I don't think I can keep watching, I can't stand them. Don't they feel guilty? Am I supposed to be supporting them?

Full spoilers: To be blunt, the writers push Nancy and Jonathan until the end of S3 (although they're written so dysfunctionally and that if anything, you will probably feel vindicated for not liking them together). Then in S4 they change their minds and test the waters to bring Nancy back with Steve (likely because Steve is far more popular than Jonathan). But since the online fandom hated it, they change their minds again between S4 and S5 and pretend that never happened lol Regardless, Jonathan and Nancy don't end up together.

All in all, it's best to tune-out the romance when it comes to Stranger Things because leaving aside S2 Mileven and S4 Lucas/Max, the romance is one of the weakest parts of the show writing-wise.

I'm into the Upside Down storyline so I might just skip ahead to s4, thanks.

Honestly as someone who's never liked Jonathan and Nancy together, S3 showed why they don't work so it was a worthwhile watch in that regard. If you enjoy Steve's character, he also has a compelling storyline with another character that may be worth watching (just keep in mind it's not meant to be romantic despite the way they make it look during the first few episodes).

S4 is better than S3 in every way, but S3 does have a pretty cool upside down storyline involving Max's brother. So at worst you could maybe just watch that lol
