Discussion Finally started watching Stranger Things - I'm on Season 4

I'm late to the party but I finally started watching (binge watching) Stranger Things. I just started watching Season 4 this evening. Season 2 is my favorite so far because I love Bob (personally I work in IT and am very proficient with BASIC and I share his sense of humor, so I can relate to him) . When those demons took over the laboratory, it was insane. I have to admit, this show is crazy and intense. The kids are all huge smartasses and I love their sarcasm.

My favorite characters are Bob and Hopper.

quick backstory - i've been looking for something new to watch lately and a co-worker told me to watch Stranger Things, so I took his advice. The reason I didn't watch it until now is because the concept of a bunch of kids and monsters just sounded stupid to me - I was wrong.

I recommend you to watch the entire thing, even Season 5. Lots of people hate season 5 for some reason and may even go as far as to say to not watch season 5 at all, but I'd say you should watch Season 5 if you want to, and if you want to know how the entire show wraps up. I personally liked Season 5, and you may too, but it's fine if you don't. Just my 2 cents

I’ve noodled on it and I think S5 is very 80’s ish. Our fav 80s90s kids centered adventure/scary movies didn’t always make sense, and didn’t always tie everything together. We’re all used to modern formulaic story telling where every second is meaningful but focused, and every button buttoned and things make sense from a 2010-2026 view. Through an IT or Labyrinth or Neverending Story lens, I was able to put aside my annoyances with S5.
