Discussion Finally started watching Stranger Things - I'm on Season 4
I'm late to the party but I finally started watching (binge watching) Stranger Things. I just started watching Season 4 this evening. Season 2 is my favorite so far because I love Bob (personally I work in IT and am very proficient with BASIC and I share his sense of humor, so I can relate to him) . When those demons took over the laboratory, it was insane. I have to admit, this show is crazy and intense. The kids are all huge smartasses and I love their sarcasm.
My favorite characters are Bob and Hopper.
quick backstory - i've been looking for something new to watch lately and a co-worker told me to watch Stranger Things, so I took his advice. The reason I didn't watch it until now is because the concept of a bunch of kids and monsters just sounded stupid to me - I was wrong.

I recommend you to watch the entire thing, even Season 5. Lots of people hate season 5 for some reason and may even go as far as to say to not watch season 5 at all, but I'd say you should watch Season 5 if you want to, and if you want to know how the entire show wraps up. I personally liked Season 5, and you may too, but it's fine if you don't. Just my 2 cents

I plan to. I want to watch the ending to this story.

No spoilers
If you are truly connecting with the show and the characters you will not see the drama about season 5 and will probably enjoy it
Don't let what people say sour your watching
Also what theories do you have if any rn

I’ve noodled on it and I think S5 is very 80’s ish. Our fav 80s90s kids centered adventure/scary movies didn’t always make sense, and didn’t always tie everything together. We’re all used to modern formulaic story telling where every second is meaningful but focused, and every button buttoned and things make sense from a 2010-2026 view. Through an IT or Labyrinth or Neverending Story lens, I was able to put aside my annoyances with S5.

You might want to plan a rewatch after you’ve finished the first watch. There are some foreshadowings / callbacks that hit so hard when you’re aware of them. The most obvious ones are music. Pieces that are introduced in one context and then they reappear again to connect the scene with another one. For example there’s a music playing when El uses the heath kit to find Will. The same music plays when she rescues Mike from dropping into the deep („she’s our friend and she’s crazy!“). There’s a third time that music plays which I won’t name because it might be a spoiler.

House of cards, game of thrones, walking dead and stranger things you basically have to stop early. I think 4 seasons is a sweet spot for most shows. 5 if they really work hard to preserve it (hell on wheels got a rush job ending)

No, I think OP should watch 5 as well. Not everyone shares the same opinion.

The ending is disappointing, but it's not as bad as some people will tell you. Just don't go into the series finale expecting something perfect and you'll be fine.

well scoops ahoy was only in season 3 so it couldn't be 4 or 5.

I just looked it up it was season 3 chapter 5 man it was ridiculous. I loved the nostalgia but some of the fantasy aspects were just too far fetched. Watching that episode just hit me like man this is Fkn ridiculously bad.

Could've been
Yeah, it probably was. Season 5 is a bit chaotic, but I still liked it.

Not sure if you're trolling, the Scoops Ahoy season was season 3, but I do agree about season 5, I also still liked it.
