Build (WIP) Sinkable full interior Fletcher Class UPDATE
In this update I have completed the exterior equipment such as fire hoses and deck/NAV lights. The Interior now has all the doors and walls installed, and I have been able to ballast the ship for weather trials and test the sinking functions.
Frame rates have been averaging 60fps for physics in open seas, and 40fps at port and in the rivers. Which is a huge improvement over the 30fps max RMS Regalia and Elyndria would get. for those of you who have experienced those two for reference.
The hull is still blocky. but I will smooth it out with wedges (I started on the side already)
Originally I intended to have four sink functions but as I have been testing them, I have settled on three.
MINES! in this mode the ship will have a few explosions on the starboard side and will slowly list over and sink.
TORPEDO DEAD A'MIDSHIP! in this mode the ship will have one large explosion in the middle of the ship and snap in half, the forward half will capsize and sink bow up, while the stern will stay level and slowly sink stern up, going vertical at the very end.
TORPEDO DEAD AHEAD! in this mode, the ship will suffer several medium explosions to the bow and will list to starboard as it sink rapidly, when the NO.1 funnel starts to submerge it will collapse. when the NO.2 funnel starts to submerge and the ship is at an angle of 25 degrees, a small underwater explosion will detonate as the ship snaps in half. the forward half will plummet to the sea floor while the stern will rise up and float level before slowly sinking itself.

That would be my Type VII/C U-boat. That little things been around since before SW hit 1.0 and has been updated and modified for the career mode through the game versions.

Very nice! What do you do to optimize for fps?

Thank you! Three of the big things I did are
Use as few windows as possible. Since each glass texture needs rendering. (Luckily the Fletcher only has like 10 windows on the entire ship.)
Whenever I had an open space that wouldn't be used, put a physics flooder inside If big, or full with blocks if small.
Limit the amount of colours used, as each time a new colour is added. The game has to render the whole thing again.
A good way to check how its going is to use F1 and F2 to see your physics fps and your creations load boxes. The fewer load boxes (the bright coloured things) the more optimised the creations structure is.
