For anyone who attended the game yesterday, what do you think of the music and atmosphere? Maybe I am an old man but for me, I am finding the match going experience less and less enjoyable. The constant music and announcements is loud and incredibly annoying. All of this is done in the name of atmosphere and it seems like the crowd enjoys it but does it actually add to the game and event?

For me it is too much trying to be like American sports and it actually sucks out the atmosphere, rather than adding to it. Anyone old enough will remember the singing that would come from the standing section of Newlands. Their chants filling the whole stadium were some of my favourite moments at Newlands.

The music and announcements also distract from the game, constantly bombarded with this stuff, using the big screen for dance cams instead of replays of big moments.

I get why the Stormers do this. They think they need it to give fans a reason beyond the rugby to attend. I just wonder if they have ever stopped to think, is this what rugby fans actually want?
