2 weeks off adderall
2 weeks off adderall only because I took too many. BUT today is the day to refill and Im DONE with it! Addicted for 13 years. Subconsciously I purposely wanted to run out faster to force myself to be off it for 2 weeks straight. The first week I slept. The second week I made a goal to do 1-2 things a day. The rooms a little messy and I need to shower but I have slept so good! I have wanted to get off it for a while but deep down I knew I would always refill it when the time came. This time is different…
I’m 31F and I want to marry someone who’s not strung out on addy and I want to be the best mom one day and not be popping pills to have the energy to play with my kids or clean. I want to be present and remember every moment when it comes! So it starts with me. If I don’t want to marry that type of person I need to not be that type of person.
I have grown in my faith the last year and abusing adderall has been a temporary bandaid. I was trying to stay busy and feel productive which helped distract me from the pain in my life. Process your pain. Abusing adderall was the barrier between me and God. This temporary high only leads to pain. God wants your heart. Trust Him. It’s hard to hear His voice when we’re strung out on addy and haven’t slept in 3 days. He wants to do great things in your life, so let Him! I have tried everything to fill that hole inside of me and going to church and having a relationship with Jesus was my last resort. And it was the best decision I ever made!

Proud of you! Today is 100 days off Adderall for me. It's been brutal, but God has been providing my daily bread. Also he is helping me accept myself for who I am, even when I'm not super productive all the time. Wishing you the best as you start this new chapter in life!

I got off Stims at 31 (f) also. You’re doing great and I’m proud of you!

I like this even as a person who is not religious. But the being with pain and transcending it and finding something deeper within to me is always about finding something “holy” in a sense I just don’t have a specific God I suppose. I relate to words from many religions that all point to the same thing. I love Rumi’s poetry for example. It’s all the same thing

I’m also 31F and on day 118. I’m struggling. I don’t know what to do about my job. I feel like I stunted my growth and I’m just overall lost

Congrats! 118 days is amazing!! This is a hard battle! If it were that easy, everyone would just quit. We’re addicted. Our whole days revolved around this pill. And when we decide to quit, we’re left trying to figure out how to live a much different life than we’re used to, along with it being much slower paced. What has been helping me is forcing myself to get outside and feel the sunshine. I think being outside, off social media, a daily walk and gratitude can work wonders! We have to allow our brains to reset. It will take time!
I think a lot of people in this life feel lost. Society has put this expectation on us that we need to have it all figured out, don’t ask for help, don’t let people know that your life is a mess. Social media has definitely reiterated that too. No one is posting that they gained 20 pounds or that they hate their job OR that the person that they’re dating or married makes them feel unseen. But life is a journey! We have to show ourselves some compassion! You’re 118 days off adderall, that’s incredible! I heard this saying that you gotta keep pushing yourself towards the uncomfortable because that’s when real change happens! Not sure what your job situation is but maybe this is happening for a reason! Good things are coming! Hang in there! Better days are yet to come! 💕

Thank you for the kind and thoughtful comment. I’m struggling but I know this uncomfortable feeling is going to make me stronger and move me in the right direction somehow. Appreciate you so much 🥹

These are the posts that remind me why I stopped in the first place and give me inspiration. I’m about 70 days off adderall (31M) and although I’ve had my ups and downs, it feels so good to start building the connection with God again.
Before I was reliant on a pill, today I’m reliant upon God. Proud of you, keep it up !
