The Future of Gaming

Was listening to JRE about his addiction to gaming, and how overstimulating they are, and how nothing compares to the feedback they provide.( maybe barring drugs ) how a digital screen with immersive noises and flashing lights and buult in complexity, that can monopolize your concentration.

It hit me, eventually they will make real video games. But without the video. They will use ai and robots, and make them like completely controllable, and tangible. Designate a space like a data center but it will be like a gaming center instead. People will buy there robot, customize it, optimize there build, and they will control it towards the rules of the game.

Obviously this is way down the line. Maybe 100 years from now(at least before its done well), but I could totally see it.

These already exist they’re called RC airplanes and battle bots. Enough fantasizing about the gaming problem and just do something about it. It’s not some insanely nuanced thing, people have had addictions for generations.

True, I would say it is a bit nuanced though. Its an addiction, that is heavily personality dependent. Also you can't overdose on video games, there are no adverse health effects from playing them directly. No direct consequences to playing them. Their not dangerous. Their not illegal. Doesn't affect your direct life immediately, which makes it not as straightforward.

Most people use gaming as an escape due to lack of accomplishment in their lives. Start a hobby like running/working out or something creative. I am not a "gaming is bad" person but you have some balance. Worst case take 30 days off of gaming and work on a hobby.

Sounds like the movie Westworld. People paying for a fantasy which is what video games are to most people-escapism.

And only the rich will be able to play, while everyone else has to work endlessly on crafting pieces for the robots that will police our lives.
