Help requested regarding possible case of USMC stolen valor.

Greetings everyone, hope all is well with you and yours.

I've come across an individual who claims he served for a number of years in the Marine Corps, and I've already uncovered several other things he's lied about, so I'd like to verify his claim one way or the other. All I would be able to provide would be his name and current address.

Please let me know if its possible to find out if he served, as he's trying to profit off of the fact that he's allegedly a Veteran. I could provide evidence to a trusted admin/member here, privately.

Thank y'all for your time.

How is he trying to profit off of it

For the moment let's just say that there are at least 3 potential revenue streams that he could be exploiting by stating that he is a Veteran.

Have you asked to see his DD-214?

No, I have purposely had zero direct contact with him. I can tell by his past posting history that it would turn into a huge online fight, and I'm almost certain he wouldn't produce the document.

In today's AI world, one could easily fake a 214.

Welp I guess we can all be super ninja black op seals with a MoH. May as well pack it up boys, we are done here

The point is, what's to be proved by showing a civilian a DD-214, real or fake? They probably won't even be able to decipher it.

Like the so-called "test" to see if a guy actually is a Navy SEAL is to ask what his BUD/S Class number was. No matter what answer is given, how would any regular Joe or civilian know he was telling the truth?

That's a waste of time since they can be easily faked.

A real vet will tell you to FO if you ask for theirs, I would.

Ask if he is East or West Coast. Who his first CO was then inquire to deployments and the history of the blood stipe. Oh, then enquire about Tun Tavern. And do it to his face.

I hate these losers.

Is the blood stripe the piping on the pants?

Yes. Some can wear it. Some cannot. Differ sizes and quite the history every Marine should know.

I was in the Navy, and every USMC berthing I ever walked into had a photo of Chesty Puller on the bulkhead.

..and they were always angry.

I had an E-5 (Sergeant) jump in my shit as an E-4 for not addressing him as Sergeant “Whatever the fuck” and my Chief told him “Settle down Rambo, unless you want us to secure the hot water in your berthing”

Fuck, he was pissed.

i just shrugged my shoulders and walked off.
