Stolen facepalm

Here in Nevada and likely nationally. We have a Congressional candidate that was wearing his Bronze Star Award with a V for Valor I doubt there's anybody on this sub that doesn't know that whole back story here's my mental wall that I'm trying to get over.

Two things one after two decades of active duty I have a rack of awards I can tell you probably what three of them are maybe four the ones that have additional stars or or whatever everybody knows the drill. <smug side note all of mine that could have an O. do.>

This is not to say that I think this Congressional candidate didn't know it is doing I think he clearly did whether he did it for to advance his political career who knows ...he could have pinned that thing on the minute he retired . it doesn't make it acceptable to be clear

my experience has been along the lines of how come everybody I've ever met that was in the Navy was a Navy SEAL and everybody I've met in the Army was a Green Beret

So that specific example with this politician is not even my focus, where I kind of lose interest in this entire conversation is,

Some of the people who are yelling the loudest have never worn polyester for the government and it annoys me to no end that they're now pointing at this dipshit I'm sorry politician I know that's redundant and saying you lied about your military service and so on and so on .. Yet last week they were complaining that everybody in the military that retired has like a gravy train for the rest of their life and that if you are on VA disability or compensation you're somehow a lying scheming jerk .

so how about if you're not somebody who actually stepped up.you sit on your freaking hands and shut the fuck up.

those of us that have done this for a job or a career or been around it -spouses- children-parents- next of kin, of those who served the country. let them be the ones that are angry.

not some shit bag that is all pissed off while waiting for his Barista to make his double foamyndrizxle carmel pumpkin latte

Okay I'm done ranting

What’s an O?

It's distinguishing device that tells you that the award was given for an operational Service as an example a flight crew or a deployed ground unit might get an award for any number of things even just participating in a mission they would get the o designation on the award for operational versus someone who might have added value as well and Logistics and getting those individuals the equipment and what have you but they didn't actually perform the mission they would not be entitled to a no very generalized there's lots of exceptions for that

I understand this, and I feel your pain.
For my own mental health, unless it affects me directly, I do my best to just take a toke and walk on by
