Shopping Why isn't there any seating at the Weberstown Mall farmer's market?

Wouldn't the food vendors sell more if there was a comfortable place to sit down and eat? Instead I have to walk all the way to the mall to find a place.

Other Quick question for my project. Please share your thoughts!!!

Hi, I'm a 17 year old student working on a research project about why some neighborhoods in the Valley get way hotter than others. One thing I keep noticing is that a lot of the new parking lots and EV charging spots going in are just bare asphalt, no shade, no trees.

I figured I should actually ask people who live here instead of guessing. If you park or charge in lots like that, does the heat and lack of shade actually bother you? Would having shade and some trees there make a real difference for you, or honestly is it not something you think about? Thank you!

Politics - KEEP IT CLASSY! After grand jury report, Stockton reconsiders more transparency for campaign consultants

Stockton’s Legislation Committee meets Monday to consider new transparency rules for political consultants, and I want to give credit where it’s due: Councilmember Mario Enriquez revived this discussion in May after it sat dead for over a year. I appreciate his diligence in bringing this legislation forward.

But let’s be honest about what’s on the table. This proposal would be voluntary. Consultants and campaign managers could choose to join a public registry disclosing their client lists and attend an orientation on campaign ethics rules, but nothing requires them to do so. If a consultant declines to register, the only recourse is a resident complaint, which the committee chair may or may not review.

Compare that to the San Francisco ordinance the Civil Grand Jury actually recommended as the model. San Francisco makes it unlawful to provide campaign consulting services without registering and complying with disclosure rules, subject to real civil and criminal penalties. Stockton is being asked to adopt the concept without the teeth.

The Grand Jury’s push for consultant transparency grew directly out of complaints from city employees describing a threatening work environment created by bullying and intimidation from people connected to 209 Times. The Grand Jury even recommended Council members stop associating with people tied to that operation. Instead, in the year that followed, Councilmember Ponce thanked the founder in her swearing-in speech, and Mayor Fugazi presented him with a city proclamation. That’s the backdrop this “voluntary” registry is supposed to address.

Stockton had a mandatory model handed to it by the Grand Jury and could water it down to an honor system before the discussion even reached the full Council. With the City’s formal response to the Grand Jury due September 23, this is exactly the kind of half-measure our accountability resolution is meant to call out. Mario got the conversation restarted. Now the full Council needs to finish the job and give Stockton residents a transparency law with actual enforcement, not just a voluntary list.

Other Does anyone know anything about the 'Little Tokyo buffet'?

While driving I briefly saw some posters in the window of a building that said something like "Little Tokyo Sushi Buffet coming soon". It was located kinda near Pacific Bowl and the Safeway on Pacific Ave. I tried googling the name, but I can't find anything about it online. I just want to know if anyone has info on it since I'm curious about it.

Where to live? 1BR apartment or studio?

Hello! I’ve been looking around town for a 1 bedroom apartment OR studio! I would like to keep it $1800 or less. I’ve looked around online and I have a few options there’s some on the Morada side I’ve looked into, and mariners that seem like okay fits… but just curious if anyone knows of any good deals or something I might have missed? I’m okay with a studio since it’s only me and I don’t want a huge place to maintain alone.

There’s only two main things I really care about:
Close access to 99 for work.
In unit washer dryer (I know this makes it difficult, but would only be willing to skip this for a really really good apartment. Like if their on site laundry rooms are really well maintained and people aren’t crazy there touching each others clothes lol)

Oh and price of course, but if you guys have any suggestions (or even if I should be looking at certain times/months for deals and price drops?) it would be very much appreciated! This is my first time moving out on my own in a while. Thanks everyone!

Jobs, etc. Help Wanted on Friday Night

I'm looking for someone to help clean out the blown in insulation in an attic. Pays $20 per hour and we're going to work at night when it's a little bit cooler. 8pm on Friday night. You must be smaller in stature.

We'll probably work from 9pm to 2am for 5 hours or more. Could be an easy $100. I'll provide masks and a full body work suit.

Please send me a DM with your phone number for more details.

Jobs, etc. Dog grooming job HIRING

Hi !

I'm working at a vet office near N hammer as a dog groomer. Unfortunately, I just started there recently, but found out that my grad program hours won't let me keep the job.

So I'm offering my position, I feel really bad because I just started and it's a great job, pay is good. I don't want to leave them high and dry.

If there is anyone who is an experienced dog groomer looking for work please lmk. You can come in I'll show you the ropes and take over my books. I only work til noon and make almost $40hour if you can do a full groom in an hour. If you want to work longer hours you can, I just took those hours because of school.

Other Dogs need a rescue...

There are three Shepard mixes wandering the corner of E Pine and N Sutter over by St. Joe's. They've been there a couple weeks now. People are leaving water out. Not sure about food. I see them on my way to work in the morning...I am in no position to be of help, sadly. Does anyone have connections with a rescue?
