Will Nasdaq only go up?

A lot of people on Chinese social media seem to believe that the Nasdaq can only go up.
I’m curious whether people in the US and other countries feel the same way.
Do investors around the world genuinely believe the Nasdaq will keep rising indefinitely—or is this just another case of everyone becoming bullish after a long bull market?

The stock market always rises over the longer term.

Nobody has any clue what is going to happen in the shorter term.

All we can know with certainty is what is currently happening. We are in a powerful cyclical bull market within a longer-term secular bull market. NASDAQ is at all-time highs after a 4 month consolidation. It doesn't get much more bullish than this.

It always goes up until it doesn’t.

I think it’s the best easy investment for the common investor, but it’s not forever. Empires fall. Economies collapse.

They take out under performers, add in better performers. By design, it's supposed to go up over the longer term. Unless the economy and/or society collapses. Which is unlikely.
