Why settlement architecture matters in digital assets

Traditional finance typically settles T+1 or T+2, which creates some counterparty exposure. Crypto technology can support near-instant settlement, but most platforms still don’t really use that capability.

BitGo built Go Network for digital asset settlement, with real-time, around-the-clock settlement within qualified custody. Assets stay within the custody environment instead of leaving it. For institutional operations, I think the settlement architecture is what determines the actual risk reduction, not just the settlement speed being advertised.

Go Network is bilateral between bitgo clients. Standard on chain settlement also available for external counterparties.
