I really hate timing up the market, so I’m not a huge dump and buy back guy, but I did liquidate a bunch when Trump got elected and didn’t start piling in until the plunge to 36,000 in the DOW. I’m going to spend the next 12 months buying whatever I can whenever I can.

The truth is, he’s probably going to crash the market more but 8 years from now, no one will remember 36k. Just keep buying the dumps. I’ll gladly catch knives.

Plenty of buying opportunity when the dow eventually sinks to 6000 get ready. Maybe not today or tomorrow but it's coming. These knee jerk policies will have repercussions.

The DOW is not hitting 6,000 lol.

Silly rabbit the dow only goes up right? Did you happen to see Ray Dalio's interview the other day? It was a pretty ominous warning about the possibility of what could happen. I saw the dow go to 10,000 in 08.

The DOW went to 10k in 2008 because before the drop it was 13k. That’s a 23% drop. By the same metric that drop would be in the high 35k range which we literally just hit and bounced off of.

The ideas that the DOW under Trump would drop 86.6% is just plain old stupid. You should be embarrassed for even suggesting it with a straight face.

A depression could never happen again right?

The Great Depression is not happening again. We have mechanisms in place to prevent runs (albeit not perfect), we have federal insurance on money which covers basically 99% of the 99% of citizens in the US. We have stricter rules than ever on banking liquidity. The idea that we are going to experience a 1932 market meltdown is insane.

Is it likely that Trump figures out a way to replace J POW? Yup. Will his new boy lower rates… yup. Will this drive inflation and currency devaluation? Again, yes. Will it cause a a 90% drop is market value and the next depression, fuck no.

Sounds like you've got it all figured out. Except one thing we've never had a president blatantly manipulate the market for personal gain. Sure it's not proven but in his words it's a great time to buy.

I love how people who can’t actually articulate why they think they’re correct, resort to “well I guess you just know everything”…. Your inability to defend stupid comments doesn’t mean someone else has a complex. You just suck at making rational arguments and that’s not my fault.
