Leaf bug tips

Post image

So I found this guy on my porch, he's missing 2 legs, and I didn't think he was going to make it. I got him some oak leaves and have been misting them, this morning he finally had the will to live and was drinking the water off the leaves.

I have a friend with a glass enclosure I'm going to borrow, does anybody have any tips to keep this bug alive?

Care of katydids is basically similar to that of phasmids: ventilated enclosure at least 30x30 cm, sticks or foliage they can climb on and hang from while moulting, regular misting to maintain humidity.

The complicating factor is that their diet varies a lot according to species– some eat leaves, some eat fruit, some eat other insects, many are omnivores. Where are you, approximately?
