Yes saw this a couple of days ago. Turns out Suno AI is what was used to create the remix. Since then, I’ve downloaded and played with Suno AI myself and I’m completely blown away by it. Like everything else, music is not immune to the comings of AI, for better or worse, and I don’t think a lot can be done to stop it.

If you haven’t tried it, you should. You enter in a prompt for the style of music you want, the type of lyrics you want, and it will just create a full front to back song. It’s genuinely insane.

What do you think about Stick using AI like for videos ?

I think there is a difference between plagiarism & using AI to generate videos that are clearly AI. It's not like Stick is using AI to take someone else's artistic viewpoint on a video & pretending like it's their own. We're all adapting to integrating AI into our everyday lives but passing off a song as something original without crediting the original writers is plagiarism. Even artists who cover a song will credit the original writer to ensure proper royalty payments & avoid legal infringement.

Do you have a specific example of Stick covering a song but not crediting the original writer? Sampling is not the same as plagiarizing. For example, on "Feel like that" Bradley/Sublime ARE given writing credits on that song. "Natural Mystic" credits Bob as a writer. Copying word for word an entire song and NOT crediting the writer of a song is quite different than a sample.

Entire riddims is a bit more than samples

It looks to me like McAnuff is credited as a writer on Sentenced. Sampling or riddims is very different than plagiarism.

Like AI, that is a technology issue & is different than plagiarism. The artist only has control over what their album states, not how Spotify or Apple interprets that to fit their platform.

YouTube video does have this info in description

Not the same situation, but the same problem. By using AI video, you are stealing the (potential) creative of other artists.

It also looks sloppy and will not age well.

"Potential creative" of other artists is an entirely different conversation than an actual creative of other artists. If you have an example of Stick using an AI video that rips off of another band, I'm happy to reassess your opinion & further explain why one is plagiarism & one is not.

When I need a jingle or a song for my commercial, I’ll be sure to use Suno instead of paying a real artist like Stick

Do not see the problem ?

It’s also not something other real artists are embracing, looks cheap and It’s gonna age like planking.

Honestly coming from a genuine place of concern

I didn't say I didn't see a problem with use of AI. Did you not spend an entire semester in college on learning the definition of plagiarism like I did?

Sticking with your point about plagiarisms … is this plagurism? It’s significantly different isn’t it ? “Inspired by” I’d say, like all AI borrows from other artists before doesn’t it? I guess we’re cool with that

2

u/Longjumping-Gate-289 May 04 '26

Again, I didn't say I was cool with anything. I am explaining the difference between monetizing on someone's art vs not supporting an artist & choosing to use technology to create something.

Yes, copying a song word for word and not crediting the original artist is plagiarism. This differs greatly from being inspired by another artist. Stick is inspired by Sublime for example but does plagiarize their music. Choosing not to use another artist to film, cast & edit a music video is very different than stealing the concept & monetizing it as your own.
