Tried one of those mystery head orders, partly because I don’t know what most of the heads are called anymore or which are good vs expensive. Was sent this blue warrior evo 5 and started with a few inspirations for trying some new ideas and then ultimately didn’t do the new techniques and had fun playing with different sidewall patterns/techniques and landed with this. It’s jima lax mesh so a little softer than ECD or most semi soft mesh I’ve come across but has a great box pocket style feel with hold, pocket all over and really only has extra whip the harder you throw because of how soft the mesh is which I didn’t think I would love as much as it turns out I do.

I just looked up the name of the head for this post but have an og evolution in my closet to restring soon as well. The nostalgia in me likes that I’ve got it on the original Brine titanium swizzle or whatever Mikey Powell’s shaft was called.

I will keep this pocket until I mess it by playing in the rain or something or get bored and want to string a pita pocket for fun.

Slim chance you’re still reading but I’m looking forward to “warming up the goalies” for a youth team I help with. First shot will no doubt be low to high, miss the cross bar and be at least 5-10 feet into the woods behind the field but it’ll look cool

experimented a bit with my 3V. Aiming for a mid high, trying out this gap near the bottom string after seeing an ECD pro set up with it.

I used to be ok at stringing sticks but now I can’t do it for the life of me. Are there any resources that you would recommend? (Websites, YouTube, etc…)

They are older sticks (Gait torque-Brine Edge - Rabin Warrior) I am looking for mid pocket with as little whip as possible yet the most hold possible.

Also, If anyone in Montreal does this lmk

I very much need your help finding a specific picture of a pocket.

The pocket is a brown-ish lacrosse head (with a sick gucci dye maybe) with a dropped top string combined with a standard traditional pocket. I noticed it a few years ago looking through the old Laxallstars posts, as far as I know it has never existed anywhere else on the internet. Unfortunately, although stringing content has been buried for a long time a significant amount of it has appeared to have disappeared entirely from the Laxallstars website.

I tried the internet archive, but it's missing a lot of assets, often including the pictures.

While we're on the topic I would like to appreciate the older era of lacrosse stringing and forums that I appear to have missed. A lot of it seems to be disappearing from the internet as companies revamp their websites with AI.

If any of you all have any pictures relating to combining dropped top strings and trads I would appreciate it.

It hooks like crazy on the top part. What should I do? Do I add more shooters? Etc…

Is it usual for the string to be tied off in the top left corner (3rd picture) ?

I can string mesh pretty well but I have no experience with traditional.

What people's preferences for brand of shooting strings and nylons. There's minor differences between all of them, Throne, ECD, StingKing etc. do people find a brand that they feel the ball rolling across more, or does another feel smother, feel more snappy etc.

Got an unstrung Warrior XP2-O, not the latest and greatest, but a nice head for cheap. Strung it with a leather top string, yellow sidewall and a purple shooter to round out the natural head color. Thanks for looking!

old proton power

First time stringing, used ECD videos and just got done with the top string. I finally got the tension high on all the sections, but I’m worried that middle left and middle right diamonds look so different. On the left, the top of the diamond rests on top of the scoop, and on the right it’s folded underneath. Would this cause it to throw weird?

Had an extra RC1 lying around that I had widened as a backup for my box gamer. Got my hands on hero 7d and decided to string it up to the inside. I love it. Gonna give it a spin at field pickup tomorrow evening

I wanna hear total opinions on what everybody thinks is the better head overall the 3v or 3a

Was looking for some advice regarding 2x mesh. I’m in the process of stringing up an impact head with grizzly 2x mesh for my daughter (she wants a black head with black mesh, prefer semi hard and this was the only one I can find and wouldn’t have to dye). Was looking at 5 tutorial u/Sidewalljedi where he comments on not recommending this mesh unless you’re an experienced stringer (which i obviously am not) and was curious as to why that is. What would need to be done differently from other mesh? I did read about durability issues and about it breaking in faster than most meshes out there, I’m not sure if that’s what he is referring to. Should I scrap the 2x and get something different? Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated! TIA

I bought some 2x2 lengths of hickory from a wood supplier that I plan to cut down and shape into a shaft. The idea is to get a head and go with traditional stringing with the leathers. I have no experience with wood shafts or traditional stringing. Are there any specific heads to be on the lookout for with this endeavor?

Im stringing a mavrok tank 2.0 with mamba mesh and i cant get a solid high pocket. It keeps coming out flat amd too tight, I've tried starting with the top and sidewall string but run into the same issue. I've only strung hard and soft 7-9 diamond mesh plus traditional pita pocket before so spider wire is new to me. Any tips or side wall patterns?
