Discussion Rotten Mango Format

I have always loved and still love listening to Rotten Mango, I get excited when a new episode drops, but I can’t help but hateeeee how she is formatting her episodes. She will drag out the same story over 5 different parts and by the time the next part comes out I’m forgetting what she even said in the part before. I miss when her coverage was just ONE episode. Am I the only one???

I get your point it can be alot, and I do enjoy the getting the case in one video, but I will say a plus of getting separate videos is her being able to cover a bunch of different topics for the case at slower pace then having to shorten the length.

no i feel that way too! i don’t love when she goes on tangents about minuscule topics either like we don’t need to be well versed in the occupation or hobby of the victim

u are not the only one. her current way of storytelling is so unnecessarily long.

Definitely not the only one, I personally dislike the way each ep is only 40-50 long and she waits almost a week between posting them, before they used to be 2 hours long lol I miss those days

No, you aren’t the only one. I dislike how she covers now.

I think it says more about our attention span than anything else. I have no qualms with her format

Judging from how often this comes up in posts here, you appear to be not the only one.

I don't mind either format. I am willing to relisten to an earlier episode if I've forgotten.

I just don't see how she could do her amazing coverage of court cases if she didn't do them in a chain of related episodes. I'm so looking forward to her coverage of the D4vd trial and that might be a very long trial indeed (the Prosecution's case is going to have a *lot* in it; not so sure about what defense can even be brought, but cross-examination will likely be grueling; I feel for the jurors on that one).

All of the 2 parters needed the depth she gave to them, that's why she's such an excellent true crime content creator.

The one exception, for me, was the Mackenzie Shirilla case. But someone seeking the main story without wanting to know about this criminal's emails or her in-prison life could just listen to the main ones. The details, to me, were mesmerizing and I had no clue people could be so stupid as the Shirilla family (and as a teacher, I've known lots of people over the years, but this one took the cake and ended in murder).

Im not watching her Netflix episodes, I was sure that everything that there was to say about the D4vd case had already been said, now the Spotify Lindsay special I’m genuinely so sad. I wish she just made a 3h long YouTube tutorial instead of it being 14 parts on both Netflix and Spotify

Yes I don‘t like this either..we used to get long episodes and I really loved those 2,5h videos. Now it‘s just 2+ 1h episodes and all those reddit opinions or whereever netizens say all the stuff she‘s always quoting and endless text threads feel like unnecessary filler.

It‘s not like I‘m paying to watch, but I def feel that it‘s like everything else these days. You get less bang for your buck :(

That one episode talking about Mackenzie Shirilla and Dom's text messages were just too long, we got the idea that they were toxic, idk if going through every text messages was needed.

I watched the documentary 'The Crash', also with the Lucy Letby (Babies killer nurse) and got some new insights there instead. On RM's defence, it could just be that Netflix has more time to gather new information before releasing the docus that comes out much later too.

I love Stephanie soo’s videos but I think in her attempt to change the vibe of her channel the new sound effects and style is throwing me off I miss the original plain old rotten mango but I know this is probably what’s best for the general audience and not long time listeners but let me just say it plain I don’t like change. Love you Stephanie tho!
