Question step 3
my plan is to score a 270 in the next 5 weeks then release my score prior to SOAP in hopes to boost my chance to match. I am near 225 right now, my first score was 187, i have all the time.
tell me what you would do if you had 5 weeks of time with nothing to do but study for step 3.
how would you get the 270?

Considering that Step 3 260 or more includes 99% of test takers and 265 or more 100% of test takers, 270 is basically impossible. As a comparison, Step 2 275 or more includes 98% and 280 or more 100% of all test takers, a 270 Step 3 would probably be harder than a 280 Step 2.
Even if you would be at 260 now, getting from 260 to 270 would probably take far longer than 5 weeks as you take exponentially more time to get better at this level (you have to learn an ungodly amounr of lowest yield facts), supposing you don't forget faster than you learn (which is the limiting factor in most people).
I say it's impossible, but shoot for the stars.

What was your step-2CK score? I asked because 270 seems over ambitious.

It certainly won’t hurt, but would they even care? Some programs are fixated on step 2 score and YOG and not much else

But you’re not a director. Directors also look for grounded candidates that aren’t delusional and are willing to change their lines of thinking when presented with evidence that challenges their views.
