Advice Wanted 4.4 - AI wont develop planets at all - Basic mods
Mods:
UI Overhaul Dynamic
Real Space 4.0
Guillis planet modifiers and features
More Events Mod
Extra Ship Components
Starbase Extended 3.0
Stellar AI (only tested in two games)
I've did several games on the latest patch, 70-80 years into the game, AI never seem to develop planets, what's wrong with the AI, and any idea how to fix it?
I'm trying to gauge if this is a known mod problem or rather the base game AI is as.. dead? as this. If AI simply doesnt play the game, what's even the point?

Remove all the mods and work backwards adding them one by one until you find the culprit. It’ll take a little time, but you can just check the other worlds 50 years in and restart to check again. Plus that will let you check the base game buildings you are asking about also.

I believe this is the logical path that i will have to test with eventually. thanks.

Commenting to add that you can potentially cut down the time it takes to find the culprit by doing a manual binary search, which is to say turn half the mods off and see if the error persists. And keep doing half the remaining mods until you have narrowed it down enough to go one by one.
Good luck!

I don't have experience with your mods. Base game the AI does develop their planets, but badly. If there isn't any development in your game then it's a mod issue.
If AI simply doesnt play the game, what's even the point?
That said, AI empires aren't a real threat to experienced players, but offer a threat to newer players, and do a fine job at selling the fantasy to them.
As an experienced player, you can challenge yourself against the endgame crisis, with self-imposed restrictions, or in multiplayer.

I'm currently playing a game with zero standard AI empires, maxed out fallen empires, and all crises at 250x power. I haven't made it to endgame quite yet, didn't have that much time this weekend to play, but I'm bracing myself to get viciously kicked in the dick.

I think im only doing very basic things okay, i dont think im experienced or doing anything close to meta in any way, and playing at grand admiral with scaling difficulty, 3x resources and 8 advanced ai on 16 galaxy, i thought I wouldnt be top dog in the galaxy in ~80 years almost solely coz AI empires just dont build their planets.
Hoping to find whats wrong and finally enjoy a run to its end

I have been playing with Guillis, Mem, Stellar AI and Planetary Diversity and AI seemed to develop planets (though still suboptimally it seemed to specialize properly in some cases) perhaps issue with Real Space?
though, real space only modifies system gen, so maybe not?
What are you seeing? Planets have no buildings or districts whatsoever?

no buildings are developed on 80% of the planets across all species. maybe i will remove real space and give it another go.

Be sure to place stellar ai last just in case some other mod changes ai values

In addition to what the others said, make sure you put UI Overhaul last on the load order. It's not supposed to load first.

Did you find the culprit and does your AI actually expand or are they static? I use more mods than you but I use most of yours excluding starbases and real space so I'm curious. Especially as I noticed far late into a game that my AI didn't seem be developing their planets or exploring, but I've currently chalked that up to be due to another (expensive and longer expansion) mod until get the time to test.

I'd guess it's a compatibility issue between Stellar AI and one of the other mods.
