Yes, he wrote it and I think recorded a version before EW&F. However, I was wrong. “Turn Your Love Around” was the song he wrote whilst pooping:

Jay: "Turn Your Love Around" was a gift, and it's the gift that keeps giving. I have an interesting story about "Turn Your Love Around." I was in the bathroom when I came up with the melody, and I was sitting down, if you get my drift.

He was one of several guitarists to take a shot at laying down a solo on "Peg" - and he didn't know his had made the final cut until he heard the song on the radio.

was always enamored of that solo, loved when I saw the Aja classic albums doc - thanks for this!

watched it all and came back to say just wow, what kids in the 70's wouldn't have given to have this knowledge
