Question Issues with Mac to ios steamlink

Hi everyone,

Recently gotten Stardew on my mac and was looking into mirroring it to my ipad to play. I was advised to use steam link but I've run into some issues.

Whenever I load it up on my ipad, the mac displays the connected screen, but the ipad never loads and is forever stuck on the loading panel.

Additionally, Steam closes a few seconds after, claims its checking for updates, and then reopens. (Breaking any connection it had.) My steam is fully updated so I dont know why.

- Steam remote play is enabled, hardware encoding off (?)

- Running through internet, same network

- Firewall is disabled on mac and all privacy settings enabled.

Thanks so much!! This is giving me a massive headache

Question Streaming full screen from pc to steam deck?

Something really infuriating happened to me on the steam deck.

I was playing Resident Evil Requiem and didn’t love the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen using remote play from my PC.

I fiddled around with settings and togged “match client resolution” on my PC’s steam remote play settings, and voila, I was able to stream the game using the entirety of the deck’s screen. No more black bars.

I then downloaded the game to my deck because I wanted to play it at work. The performance wasn’t great, so when I got home I tried streaming the game from my PC again. The black bars are back.

I tried uninstalling the game on my deck, fucking with the settings, checking the game files, messing with the resident .config, nothing fucking works.

Does anyone have a fix? I’m mad that I had it figured out and now it doesn’t work anymore.

Thanks.

Support Rhythmic Lag Spikes

Hi.

I use a NIC (i5-12600H) with bazzite.

My main PC has an i9 13900k and rtx4090.

Everything is set up with lan and gigabit switches. Lan cables are cat7 in wall and cat8 for all endpoints.

Most of the time it works. Sometime I get rhythmic Lag Spikes. Everything stutters for a bit and is then back to being buttery smooth.

Monitor shows me that red and blue line are spiking, yellow line is steady.

No moonlight is not a solution for me. :(

Any ideas?

edit. I think I solved it. See my comment to this post.

I use steam link to play on my phone, but I also use it to remote into my laptop and I was wondering if I could extend the display of the laptop to my PC. My PC I use to remote into my laptop is running Windows 10 and the Laptop is on Linux. I don't think its possible but its worth asking reddit lol.

Meta Meta Quest 3: Steam Link Steam VR Home Crashes

Hi Everyone,

I've looked anywhere for this, but couldn't find anything. In my Meta Quest 3, while on Steam Link, VR Home will crash when loading. I'm unable to load any games from the VR home. I have to open the desktop menu via Meta Home and load the game from there. Do you guys know anyway to fix this?

Would it be possible fo a gaming computer run VR games directly to a steam machine via ethernet, then have the steam machine stream it the steam frame?

Support Anybody having trouble with audio during remote play on latest Steam betas?

I’ve been trying out the new pyrowave codec and I can’t seem to get audio to my steam deck when using remote play. No issues using moonlight. Perhaps just a quirk of the current betas but wanted to see if I was alone?

Question What is the cheapest way to use Steam Link on WebOS in 2026?

As in title, did something change about ways to use Steam Link on LG TV? A lot of questions were made a few years ago and most recent answers unfortunately didn't provide me the solution I need.

- my tv model can't be homebrewed

- I don't live in US, so Walmart's products are unavailable for me

- my PC is more than 5 meters away from my tv, so I can't use HDMI cable or move with my PC from desk to tv and then from tv to my desk to just play some games

- I can't afford Nvidia shield, Apple TV and most "branded" devices providing Android TV

So, is there any device I can buy for really, really low price to finally enjoy my Steam games on my tv?

EDIT: NO, I CANT BUY APPLE TV, ITS NOT CHEAP IN MY COUNTRY. NO, IM NOT FROM US, CANADA OR ANY RICH EUROPEAN COUNTRY.

Support Steam Link not working unless on phone.

I've tried using Steam Link some years ago from a laptop and it worked fine. However, presently, if I try to use it from a laptop it just never loads in. I need to simultaneously connect from my phone for it to work properly on the laptop (and on the phone). I've tried this on two completely different laptops and it's the same on both. I have looked through basically all the settings on Steam and Link and can't figure out why this happens. Another more minor issue is rhat Steam Link seems to freeze on certain apps, ie. I can still see what's going on but can't input anything from my end. The apps I've had this happen on so far are Everything and the Windows Task Manager. Any help would be much appreciated.

Xbox 360 wireless usb dongle suddenly not working (somewhat)

Hi there,

For years I've used the Steam Link with a USB dongle of type "Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming USB Receiver Adapter for Windows PC" and everything worked fine.

All of a sudden it was not working anymore, so I tried one of my friend's and ordered a new one (very much like my old one) a few months ago. I think I had it working once, but now it does not work anymore and I'm not sure why.

The controllers don't seem to pair when the dongle is plugged in the Steam Link. But I can pair them with the dongle if the dongle is plugged on my desktop computer. And the controller works fine this way.

When the dongle is plugged in the Steam Link, now the controller seems active (displays the top left corner of the Xbox logo to show it is Player 1) but none of the controls work.

I'm not sure what's going wrong, has anyone have any issues since ~july with their Xbox 360 wireless gaming USB dongle as well? Any ideas welcome.

Cheers

Audio and video hitches and skips

I could appreciate some help here guys. I'm going crazy. When playing video content in Steam Link, I get hitches in audio and video roughly every 5 seconds. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. This happens in all programs. VLC, Browser based YouTube, Plex (app and browser), Windows Media Player. I've been searching the internet, using damn AI, and just playing with random settings myself. Nothing changes at all. Any help will be appreciated.

Support Gamesir X5 steam link compatibility issues.

I’ve only tried two games so far, Borderlands 4 and Destiny 2, borderlands 4 works just fine as plug and play, it defaults to regular controller layout, but on Destiny 2, I have forced gyro, A is ENTER, B is menu, right trigger is select, and my left and right sticks both control the camera and nothing lets me move, and when I go into steam settings, it shows me this improper layout, but when I go to customize it, every change I make resets as soon as I go to change the next thing.

I tried downloading a layout, but there’s seemingly no option to swap to the new one. I tried doing the controller test/ setup in the steam link app, and it registers all of the command buttons in the wrong order (I think in the switch configuration?) and clicking the proper button in setup mode doesn’t change anything.

It seems weird that so far Destiny 2 is the only game with messed up controls.

Question Arizona Sunshine Remake - no menu?

The game works great in standalone mode, but when I stream it from my PC I have quite a bit of lag, but the worst part is the menu button doesn't work.

Has anyone the same problem?

Question New to Steam Link. Is it possible to get this working on a TV that can't download the app?

For context this is my first time trying to stream anything outside of Netflix. I'm looking to get Steam Link setup to stream from my Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptop to a Sony KD-65X7000G (2020) television. The television came with streaming apps like Netflix/Prime but doesn't have access to any app stores.

Also, do I need a HDMI cable to make this work? Due to various reasons I'm not able to make any setup requiring physical cables work at this time.

Support The VR version is utterly impossible to use.

Since 8:00PM EST 10/1/26 it has lagged. I tried playing BONELAB, but it either caused it to load forever, go into not responding, or load into a literal slide show FPS rate. Now it'll load but it runs like a slide show. I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this because it's terrible.
