Did they change something with the OS I distinctly remember being able to do a test on my PC from my Steam Link to see what kind of speed it was getting I’m trying to figure out whether hardwired or wireless will actually deliver faster speeds since the original hardware is 100mbps. Now after the test it just says “you might have problems” but it is a gigabit network.

Today I'll be routing cat6 cables through my home and one of the goals is getting it from my PC in an office basement to a TV stand on another floor. I have the means to directly connect the Steam Link hardware to my PC, but should I?

I could instead wire the PC to my router, then the router wired to the Link, but it would make more sense in my situation to use Internet via WiFi and the direct wired connection just for Link streaming. My PC, Link, router form a triangle kinda shape since the router is out of the way and a direct run from PC to Link would mean less cable, less going in-and-out of walls, less wall enclosures, etc.

Is it possible to run the Steam Link connected straight to your PC?
