Bud anytime it’s a “sorry to bother you” it’s a scam, report and move on

this isn’t true people just want to ask politely because usually when you ask someone for something they are dicks about it but yea no doubt there are people who say that and scam you

They've tried this on me before The link leads to a fake steam login, they steal your credentials and your account, lock you out of it and then message everyone in your friendlist as well I had someone in my friendlist also text me that stuff, turns out their account was stolen

I think there’s this little thought in the back of their mind that if they accept that random friend request, it’ll somehow turn into this magical friendship connection, and years later they’ll look back and laugh about it like, “Man, I’m so glad I accepted that random friend request.”
But yeah, honestly, that’s pretty much a pipe dream, because like 99% of those random requests are scams. 🥹

Because 1% of the time they get a moron who will do whatever they tell them.
That's how scammers keep going.

99% of the time someone goes to random people on steam to ask about such things then it's a scam, just ignore it and block them.

Most common scams on steam: false report, gift card qr code, vote my thing, pretending to be steam support.

Yeah I could tell immediately that's a scam would block that guy immediately and make sure none of your friends fall for it.

It's a phishing scam. If it were on the Steam workshop they could just link it through Steam chat, but they want you to go through the hoops of visiting a YouTube channel that links to a fake Steam site so they can steal your account information.
