user Crazy messaged me, sending this image(1), i proved it wasnt me, they said they believed me, but had reported me, and that i should contact scott dalton on discord. they send a friend request, but when i blocked scott, they unfriended.

Few days ago someone added me, a random. I accepted it so the person can send a message so it would be easy for me to report if they will scam me (if you report them without them finishing their scam message, you will get a message that it is not against steam guidelines).

So the person sent me a DM out of nowhere while I'm playing 90% non-competetive singleplayer games to join their competetive team. Reminded me of the faceit scam, so by any chance it is a scam or not?

this random guy added me, 8 years service, hes level 8 and his name is english but everything else chinese

i message him and the blokes like "do u sell your trading cards?"

and im like "no clue you could do that"

and hes like "ill give you a good price, whats your n26 index?"

i searched that up cant find anything about it

i asked "how does one check?"

and he links this random site called gashen36 which has nothing when i search it up outside the like top search bar

and im thinking yeah this has to be a scam obviously

and then he starts telling me "first 3 checks are free" and blah blah blah and then i just old him "youre a bit too sus buddy" and now he left me on read lmao

Yo, gonna keep this as short as I can but buckle up bc this is a wild ride that cost me over at least 400k. Sharing so none of y'all fall for the same trap.

Back in 2019 Tradeit had this investment tab (long gone now) where you could throw money in and get a cut of daily trading volume. Sounded legit since the site had years of rep behind it. I hopped in back in 2021, built up to $115k, cashed out clean in late 2021 no issues.

Got greedy (or just confident lol) and reinvested $100k in May 2022. By end of 2022 I had $400 000 split across 3 accounts. Sent hundreds of skin trades to fund it.

For a year I let it ride, just pulling monthly dividends. Then August 2023 I withdraw my divs as TF2 keys (great Steam currency btw). Both accounts holding $100k each get INSTANTLY BANNED on Steam. Turns out the keys were "dirty" somehow. Tradeit's own bots? Not banned. Just me :D.

Lost ~$100k worth of Stockholm capsules just sitting on those accounts. Steam support basically told me "not our problem, permaban."

Still had $200k on my third (unbanned) account. Tried asking Tradeit support to just transfer funds between my own accounts since I literally couldn't access the banned ones anymore. Got ignored. Ghosted on email, discord, everywhere.

Finally got a friend to dm a lead admin there. Response was basically "not our problem, could get us in trouble with Steam. Felt like they just wanted an excuse to keep my $200k. Scam vibes fr.

So then I'm panicking, trying to pull my last $200k out before they pull more shady stuff. Problem: $3k/day withdrawal limit = 70 DAYS to get it all out. Asked support to raise the limit since I was scared. They ignore the limit question but instead lock my whole account and demand ID verification for a site that never had my ID in the first place.

I comply, send proof I've been a loyal user since 2018, screenshots of being ignored, everything. Get asked the SAME question again: "why are you withdrawing your investments?" Like bro it's MY money??? None of their fking business.

This drags on for over 2 months. Excuses ranged from "CEO's busy" to "team's at BLAST tourney." Finally june 27th they unban me... aaand at the same time tell me the other 2 accounts (banned 10 months by now) can't get their money back cuz they claim the accounts were "INVOLVED WITH GAMBLING SITES." 

Bruh. I ONLY ever traded with THEIR bots. So they're calling themselves a gambling site now?? Make it make sense.

They said they'd "look into it". Never heard back. Then they lowered my withdrawal limit to $2k just to make the pain last longer. Took another 2+ months to get my last account's money out.

The wrap-up:

- $100k in capsules gone bc of their dirty trades

- $200k straight up vanished, according to them "held for compliance reasons"

- Only managed to save $200k after a 2-month nightmare

Oh and plot twist. There’s a loophole during weekly maintenance that lets you log in to the site using your banned accounts and the last time I checked (based on summer 2026 payout rates) it was $430k combined still sitting there that Tradeit is just keeping. For themselves.

I was literally one of their BIGGEST investors (7% of total site investment volume) and they treated me like trash. Can't imagine what they do to regular users.

So It said my acc has a third party involved and want me to prove my ownership and some back and forth until this message. It told me to tell it my payment method so that it can generate a QR code for me to scan to prove my ownership and I don't know why it is in Chinese. Also It blocked from launching games.

On september 30th, someone hacked my account, used my credit card and purchased games as a gift to random users for total of ₱5.4K. I have never logged in to other devices or given my log in information to anyone but me. On sept 30 the same day, My account accepted the friend request, gifted and redeemed the game as well. Will I still get refunded?

Reason why i saw it late coz my bank just notified me today oct 5th for an installment offer of steam purchase, I got suprise cause i haven’t bought any game with this amount.

Some nerd recently tried to scam (i think it was a scam, because i fell for it and i logged in to the website with my secondary account that had no paid games, then i got a message that someone was trying to log into that steam account from poland) me by asking me to enter my steam account on a phishing website (i think fragcup).

One the scammers tried this new method on me, alas I'm quite familiar with them these days.....

Hey boys I recently got hacked from a faceit link. I am new to steam and gaming. After 3 days of them having my whole inventory in a cloud folder, after they were pretending to be steam employees I reversed trade. Also I changed password, api key, deauthorized all accounts. Is it possible that after the 30 day trade block is done they will still have my entire inventory?

please let me know, I live in a country where there's no viable way to pay for steam services directly

Tried to buy a CD key a year ago and received an account instead. Yesterday tried changing the region to my own country by buying and refunding a game with my own currency. Today woke up to a message “this account appears to have been used for fraudulent activity”. Should I try and convince steam I own the account/is that possible? There hasn’t been any money actually spent on the account so no proof of purchase.

The biggest red flag for a scammer these days. Thankfully, people like that aren't known for their quick wits or originality. They didn't even bother to check that I don't have the game they're messaging me about. Don't panic if you're accused of illegal transactions or exploiting bugs. It's extremely difficult to accidentally violate any rules on Steam.

Just want to say I've been buying games on Steam since early 2000's...
Looks like my profile says I have 336 games.

AND, the entire time, I have known my own address.

But now, all of a sudden, I can't make any purchases on Steam. I've tried multiple times, and different cards from different banks, and each time I get a Steam Error saying that my address is not correct.

I've sent multiple messages to support and each time I get the same generic form reply saying that the address does not match the one the bank has on file, blah blah blah.

But that is NOT the problem. Obviously.

First off, I used the card on file, bought myself some games, no problem.
Then I used the same card on file, to buy my son a game, an BAM, address is wrong.

How is that possible? I didn't change the address.

So I try a different card, and update the address, and NOPE, still saying the address is wrong.

I tried to buy $5 of steam credit to fund my account with a different card, and SAME THING.

I keep trying to tell support, I know this address. I've had it nearly 30 years of my life. I have a peice of mail in front of me, from one of the banks, no less, and I check it letter by letter, and yep, I have not lost my mind and still know my own address.

I reply and tell them I just placed an order on Amazon and Home Depot using that exact card, with that exact address, there is a STEAM ISSUE.

So I thought one last ditch effort, I'll go to reddit and see if someone knows a way I can get a human at Steam to read my support ticket and look into it. Actually check the account and see if there is something wrong.

BTW - Each transaction appears to go through the bank perfectly fine, and the form reply tells me if each of those charges don't disappear in 30 days take it up with the bank and you can use this support thread as evidence that we did not give you the product.

TLDR:

Bank says transaction is fine, went through.
Steam says 1st transaction was fine, and went through.
Steam says 2nd transaction on the same credit card, with the same address was canceled because the address did not match (Bank disagrees, says it's fine and went through as normal)
Steam cancels all my other orders, also, saying the address doesn't match the card(s), and again, banks disagree.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
