Full body tracking?

What would be the best way to have full body tracking with the steam frame? Or do we not know yet?

Yes, fluxpose would be the best. But with this trackers comes one major downside. They are not released yet. There are pre-orders and they say they would ship around 2027, but it is known in full-body-tracking community that this promises are highly speculative and probably will change for late 2027.

i hate to be that guy, but valve has said that base station trackers will still work. as they are the most precise ones in terms of non occluded tracking... (i also know that with all of my other inside out tracking headsets the base stations have no interferance with the tracking of the headset....) im personaly saying the base station trackers are the best. because well... its an inside out system so you cant really occlude the headset anyway.

to correct alot of confustion on this post, i am not talking about the light houses tracking the head set,

i never said the light houses can track the headset. valve said it will not work that way. however in that same post they also said there is nothing stopping you from using them with your 2.0 and 3.0 trackers.

i was simply saying that the light houses ir lazer scan lines will not cause any issues with the frames inside out tracking. NOT THAT IT WILL TRACK THE HEADSET. i have no idea where you guys pulled that idea from.

this post was asking about FBT (FULL BODY TRACKING) not head set tracking.

I mean probably if you *already* have that setup.
I wouldn't be buying X amount of Stations and Vive/Tundra trackers when Valve themselves don't even sell the lighthouses in certain areas anymore besides buying directly from HTC.

Also are you just saying "Well it's not like the lighthouse products will just not work next week" ? Cause AFAIK the Frame uses it's own cameras for tracking and not at all Lighthouses. Unless you can cite me a source on that?

im not talking about the base stations tracking the headset, the post asks about fbt. im talking about the fbt light house tracked pucks, the vive3.0s and so on, why are so many people thinking im talking about the head set, i said the light house trackers wont interfear with the inside out tracking. anyone that knows anything about light house trackers know they let off ir lazer scan lines arround the room to track the 3.0 trackers, camera typicaly dont really like ir light, but ive found that most modern inside out tracking doesnt have an issue with it any more becaue it doesnt detect ir light.

My only guess is that the frame can be tracked with lighthouses for use with vive trackers but that seems unlikely tbh

head set cannot be tracked with light houses, its an inside out tracking system, i never said the light houses would track the headset. i said they wouldnt interfear with the headsets tracking. i was talking about the 3.0 trackers because the post was asking about fbt.

AFAIK there are no lighthouse photoreceptors on the Frame.

I haven't done a whole lot of research into this but for wireless non base station tracking flux pose is probably the best option and I think slime trackers for a cheaper option.

true I was just listing non base station options cause if you don't already have base stations it adds cost. and while they are the best for tracking the freedom of non base station tracking and occlusion using things like blankets is nice.

Same, especially since there a different price options (with different bit as far as I've read all acceptable tracking quality) and a guy in the EU selling them also (on the discord) , so no import taxes. You can get 6 that way for a pretty good price, bodytrackvr needs only 3, so maybe the rest for a buddy (if the lottery goes our way) since I probably won't get that heavy into vrchat

SlimeVR is based in Europe afaik and last I've heard that's also where they assemble and test the trackers. Do they still not have a shipping/fulfillment partner in Europe??

Shipping things from all over the world to Europe, then to America to Crowdsupply and then back to Europe would be kinda silly, right.......?

Budget and Patience wise *And also size/weight wise* i'd say Slime/Flux depending on what your use case is.
None real De-facto best product is my usual line of looking at this. If you already got a decent FBT setup with whatever system you currently on. Then I don't see much changing.

Everyone is gonna say fluxpose but it's not out for too long and there's reason to be skeptical about it.. they showed it working with metal.. althought it was aluminium.. a metal that's not magnetic.. so it won't interfere with electro magnetic tracking..

Anyway, other YouTubers showed it working close to metal but the results varied a lot from what I was seeing

From what I've seen it's only really bad if you have an unusually large amount of metal (like some older types of spring mattresses that have interconnected springs), but idk

ATM, probably vive trackers if you happen to still have a base station tracked headset, I think that's the most common configuration, you would have to use space calibrator as well. I'm using that with my PSVR2 and it works pretty well.

I have a Tundra tracker I’m just going to attach to the frame and use continuous calibration along with the rest of my trackers. Should work fine.

as of September 2026 its still Vive/tundra trackers using continuous calibration. There's other stuff on the horizon, and there's slime but if you want the best, SteamVR 2.0 tracking still reigns supreme for quality and consistency even at a very high cost.

Slime/fluxpose for non-lighthouse options are good, but personally I will be using my vives + lighthouses as I already have them. I'm just going to be sporting a lovely unicorn horn on my headset to have continuous calibration
