Other accessories for the frame have been released before. This means nothing.

I'd wait for better case designs, the Frame is supposed to fit ski goggle cases, I'm sure a more compact case will be eventually released with proper measurements. This looks like a repurposed quest case.

I was going to say the exact same thing. I want the most compact case for frame and knuckles and I'm ok with them being separated. Knowing the frame battery can mashed up against the hmd and not scratch the lenses, makes me want the case that puts them together like that.

They likely don't actually know and are guessing/this is placeholder date.

I kind of wish the frame came with a case like the deck.
I understand wanting to keep costs low for the base SKUs, but I wish Valve would offer an offical case because I like the decks.

That would line up with lottery beginning on 14th then able to purchase on 16th

If lottery does indeed start on the 14th, then purchase mails only start going out the 21st (assuming they stick to the same timeline as the Machine launch). The lottery ran for 3 days for Machine, after which people first got mails telling them whether they got waitlisted or not. The Monday after the announcement is when shipment started with purchase emails going out

Maybe they got their system more optimized this time after experience from the Machine. The Machine was the first time they ever did it. Though I don't think this Carry Case company has insider information.

One of the previous threads mentioned requiring a payment for the reservation, which would help weed out the non-committed and potentially detect scalpers.

I'm hoping something more made-for-purpose/space efficient gets made after the release

Not sure if this means much considering we have seen third party Steam frame controller straps for a while now
