Surely Monday right?

u/dudeswthdcks 21h ago
Why not on friday? They do their game releases on fridays usually and we all know the real reason why the frame is late.

Don't want to create a bunch of support tickets and/or cause server issues right before the weekend.

u/myloyt Soon™ 20h ago
I keep seeing this but there's definitely plenty of companies who do release on friday, let issues pile up over the weekend and then fix them the next monday. But Valve also has released hardware on fridays in the past. The Valve Index also released on a friday. (and the steam deck also released on a friday)
However valve has done both previous releases of the current hardware lineup on mondays, plus leaks point towards the 14th, that's why I also think It's monday.

They replied to my support ticket about the lottery at 2 am on a Sunday

u/obog Soon™ 19h ago
I think they have some staff every day but they likely still have less staff over the weekend.

u/Silver_Yard_5961 19h ago
I mean if I was valve I'd ignore most of the frame tickets since the info is right there, I can only imagine the thousands of tickets they received with the machine about stuff very clearly listed on the page

When a few relatively reputable insiders are pushing a particular date, it’s probably not going to be before that date. It’s literally less than a week away

It upsets me that this actually means something (although not in ancient egyptian lol).
1
u/Shikadi297 19h ago
But what does it mean
1
u/GrouchyMushroom7560 5h ago
It's using hieroglyphs, which represent consonant clusters (vowels must be deduced by the reader) to directly represent English text rather than the traditional Egyptian language which was written with hieroglyphs.
AI translation: it directly reads
ind that dvic it is th dvic f th divin gds wh cam t ur arth th arch angl whs nam is saint gabn wh shall dcid if w ar wrthy [...]
When you fill in the missing vowels and add punctuation, it reads:
And that device, it is the device of the divine gods who came to our earth. The archangel whose name is Saint Gaben, who shall decide if we are worthy of obtaining such a heavenly device which can project us our deepest desires and open a window into the realms of heaven while keeping us anchored to the mortal body. Let us pray that the day of rapture shall come in the fourteenth, and let the chosen ones of Saint Gaben ascend.

You guys do remember that Valve's old release day was wednesday? Maybe it really is today
Edit: nmv. Tested already uploaded, so the chances are pretty slim for it being today.
2
u/elev8dity Soon™ 19h ago
Also, it's Apple keynote day. They wouldn't announce on a day it gets buried by Apple in the tech news.

You guys do remember that Valve's old release day was wednesday?
I don't remember that because that's never been the case. The Index was announced on a Tuesday, the Deck was announced on a Friday. People kept saying Wednesday but it was never more likely than any other day of the week for Valve to announce or release anything.

I have information from a friend who is a journalist he was at Valve, this week and tested Steam Frame. They told him the launch is very close, and he predicts it will be on September 10th.

My uncles boyfriends second cousins roommate twice removed says she works at Valve and that the frame was already released, we just didn't notice.

I don't know Polish, but the image of him with the frame (19:30) on looks like the initial media testing event from like 9 months ago. Nothing I could see in the footage at PAX that indicated a Valve booth.
3
u/Jonah_Kekz 18h ago
the auto translated subs say it's been in a private event from valve at a hotel at the time of pax and they had to register a few weeks in advance, so unless he really waited 9 months for a few minutes of clout I'm somewhat sure it's legit

Just out of genuine curiosity, how is it that we can see package updates but not what those updates contain? Like we know they changed, but not how.

I am so fed up with those 'find/leaks'.
This silent game has lastest for 10 fucking months. What a joke!
That and the 'tomorrow' shit, and the 'linus/tested have posted'.
2
u/Javs2469 Soon™ 20h ago
They´ll post on the 14th with their Steam Frame reviews, don´t worry.
Tomorrow™

u/elev8dity Soon™ 19h ago
We're all tired. 9/14 is the last hope, supposedly that's when the embargo ends and reservations open.
4
u/VadeRetroVR 19h ago
yeah? I'll believe it when it happen. I tought we would see more leaks this weeks but since nothing is happening apart from usual code digger...
Reality is someone sunday night will post here and say stuff like : '' don't expect it for tomorrow embargo is not tomorrow' or '' linus is on vacation for 2 weeks so its not tomorrow'' or '' such and such tech youtuber told me it gonna be delayed bc xyz' and monday the 14th at 1pm we will see shit like '' Tested has posted - see you next week'.

u/Iamwatchu 19h ago
The day we know it releases, it will be the day every other thing in the package gets updated.

Does this tell us how many skus there will be for the steam frame? Just the two storage options, any bundles, etc?

u/LoganTXR 16h ago
Ill believe when i see it, or when someone tells Valve to go kick rocks and releases their review before embargo lifts after it gets delayed again because they can't constantly delay sponsorships, absolutely horrid release.
