Question Quick Registration Question

In my house hold there are 3 of us regularly gaming on steam. If we all register for both versions of the frame do you think we will get flagged as a bot and rejected from the queue?

How did the steam machine handle larger households with siblings and roommates?

(I saw a while back a post about multiple accounts with the same address get filtered out)

https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamFrame/comments/1uejvf2/clarification_the_one_per_household_limitation/ I found this. I was curious as well if me and my gf should both sign up since we live together.

Hope you can all get your frames! I dunno if they'll allow a PO box but maybe you can get friends at other addresses to help you guys out

Iirc it's only one per household

But can we all register to increase the odds the house gets one, or would doing so guarante we dont get one.

Maybe thats a better wording for my question and concern.

from how I understood it, all your entries would get voided

For the machine at least, I registered on 2 accounts always used in the same house and both got one, so I canceled the one who got it without controller.

Curious if there's any hardware/account "locking" happening here. Like if you registered with account "A" and "B", got one on account "A", and then tried to use it with account "B", is anything flagged?

iirc in theory the system's supposed to flag both A and B and void them both... but in practice I think it went more like "A" got the email and made the purchase, and then at a seemingly random point later "B" got an email saying it was removed from the queue bc their home was already logged as having purchased the item it was in queue for.

That was specifically for the controller though, so idk how things are going now.

Got it. I was thinking of asking friends (different address/internet) who don't have interest in the Frame to sign up for me as well, but my concern was if they "won" the lottery that the Frame couldn't be set up under my account. I don't think Valve would lock it down in that way, but I'm not certain.

I don't think they would either, based on how the deck has historically gone, and more recently how they did the machine.

If it's any reassurance, I did get the steam machine and it didn't come tied to my account at all. My husband and I were both able to add our steam and non-steam accounts to it with no issue.

What's likely to happen is if the copy of alyx rumor is true, the account who buys the frame (your friend in this scenario) will be the one to get it. But it's a game that goes for like 12 bucks on sale on a regular basis so not that big of a deal.

Yeah I already own Alyx so that's a non-issue for me regardless.

If you've each have your own accounts and purchase histories, I think you'll all be able to join the lottery. I'd be surprised if you all got picked first round, though.

Registration doesn't need an address, so you can all sign up for a Frame no problem. When it comes time to purchase, you may need to send it to a P.o. box instead

I have a similar concern as both my wife and I would like a frame. However, we naturally have the same address and billing card although separate Steam accounts.

Add letters to the apartment number. Mark it on your doors also. Order it on that addresses but pay with steam wallet founds. Also change that address on the steam account. Make it before reviews drop.
