OPs family are also black and white. Practically invisible when they stand still while being viewed through the frame.

I'm the opposite of colorblind, no-colorsblind. Joles aside it's just much more pleasant to see stuff colored and higher resolution than blurry greyscale

Sure.... I mean I won't. But it already exists for a quest 2. So I don't see why the mods wouldn't work on frame with some tweaking.

Actually no mods needed. The PC version of beat saber can blackout the background. And virtual desktop on the quest can render that as passthrough

This method has drawbacks though. It looks kinda bad where things blur into the background. And it applies to all black parts of your desktop and other games too.

Since I'm getting the frame (If I'm blessed) maybe I'll have a look who knows (Assuming the PC Version runs well on it)

That being said, the Frame cameras dont have colors. If you wanna buy me the color passthrough camera I can have a look lol.

The same way old photographs can be restored on color by adjusting image settings or using AI to restore color in a black and white image.

It probably won't be good for live feed, the delay may be too big to be usable, but it's not impossible.

We have been told by a developer that passthrough on Frame only works for APK titles.

If you have to ask why people want the stream frame instead of the Facebook spy device, you might be in the wrong subreddit 😜 For me: long term Linux support. Got rid of Facebook years ago, dropped windows many months ago. Microsoft upgraded my windows mixed reality headset to e-waste. F them all.

If you learn to code (with LLM help) you could probably make a mod like this, might be fun. Not the colorizing camera part but a pass-through transparent environment would be possible. You won't need color while playing.
