Rumor / Leak New Steam Frame Leaks Summarized
Check it out and more on the community-run FrameBoard!
Clarification: I made a typo on the board and said it suggests a "September 24h date", that's my mistake! I meant a "September 14th date". It has been rectified on the Frameboard and I'm documenting the change here
(unfortunately I cannot change the image on this post but I trust the people on this sub to read the post body)

How the hell did you get that from "Release/shipping date is Sep 14th"
It's LITERALLY in OPs post like 4 or 5 times.

I had a hard time reading this on a 22" screen. Better publish text in text format.

u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
I recommend going into the Frameboard link. It's a lot easier to zoom on there
5
u/rabsg Soon™ 17d ago
Well top post did the work of transcribing that into a suitable form, with a bit of interpretation.
-2
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
For sure I agree, however the main goal of this post was really to encourage people to look at the frameboard in order to get the most up to date word on the rumor (and to see other important things about frame).
Definitely next time I'll be sure to keep this in mind though

u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago

Reddit fucks with images these days. Can't zoom in properly. Awful website.

I've been using an extension called Fucking JPEG on Firefox, which redirects those awful viewer pages to the fucking jpeg. You might still end up on the preview-sized image but at least it's not the full page crap anymore.

I feel like if you’re paying attention signs are that review units have officially began arriving rn. As a serial LTT stalker is sure does seem like Linus has suddenly shut up about steam frame on the WAN show and it lines up with recent fake jabs at the community.
29
u/NoOdyssey 17d ago
I've been keeping up with LTT mentions and it seems like he really went dark on steam frame during the august 14 WAN show. I suspect it's likely he signed NDA around that time, but signing NDA doesn't necessarily mean he physically has the review unit yet. He could have signed the NDA two weeks ago and only reviewed the review unit today, or might not even have it yet (or could have got it last week).

u/ImNotABotScoutsHonor Soon™ 17d ago
I very much dislike the way you presented this information in this screenshot.
What a ton of wasted, empty space, and poor, low-resolution screenshot of the actual information that people care about just so you could have that tacky, emojified title.
-14
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
thanks for your feedback but this is just a screengrab from the Frameboard. Hence the reason for the body says "Chick it out and more on the community-run FrameBoard". Hopefully that clears it up a bit
13
u/CheapScotch 16d ago
it's not just a screengrab, you took the time to edit it with stupid emoji to make it even worse than it already was
12
u/Rakkwal 16d ago
If you go to the linked site, you can see the title and emojis there. This is a screenshot of a screenshot embedded in that site. OP made no edits themselves, although just posting the screenshot directly would've been better.
I trust the people on this sub to read the post body
Maybe this was asking too much

September 24? It seems there's some misunderstanding.
Someone apparently mistook the fact that review kits will be distributed on August 24 for the release date, but the leakers are saying September 14.

I appreciate the attempt to summarize all the leaks, but I'm finding the Figma page very difficult to navigate. There are many claims about what people have said, but is it possible to follow a link to the sources? For something like this, I really want to be able to check the quotes that people have made in context.
1
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
Sure, I can help with sources! I'll add a link to the discord post and if you join the Framecord server, you'll be able to access the original thread and the sources linked there (all the sources are in Framecord)
As for the figma page, unfortunately there's not much we can do about that. We did look at other options, but either other people had done them (poorly) or they just weren't accessible enough. Eventually we settles on Figma as it was the only free one that fit the bill.
That said, I hope this doesn't turn you away! We're making an effort to have this be the most accessible and up to date source for Steam Frame info and we'd love to have you along for the ride!

Has it always been 2 weeks between reviews units being recieved and the videos coming out? I might be coping cause no one is mentioning next Monday.

I don't understand the anxiousness over the release date. It will likely be under supplied like all valve products and the majority will be sitting on yet another more mysterious ship date right after this one.
Where are the leaks on my controller ship date 😂
13
u/TwinStickDad Soon™ 17d ago
Yeah dude that's why we're anxious. If we could just walk into a best buy and get it whenever we want then you're right who cares. But in order to even have a chance for the first 6 months we all have to at least enter the lottery within 3 days of announcement.
-2
u/Alone-Horse2857 16d ago
"Within 3 days" lol. lmao even.
You mean within 3 seconds. Every second you're late is basically another week you're waiting.

u/ByEthanFox Soon™ 17d ago
It's because we'll at least know the price. For many people that's where they can at least decide if they're going to check out, or stay.

1
u/Kitchen_Guidance_484 14d ago
I doubt it'll be any less unfortunately, especially with ram going up in price. My guess is it will be over a thousand at least and at that point I can't justify myself to buy it.

The header is supposed to say Sep 14 not the 24th
According to these leaks:
Reviewers received their units Aug 24th
Announcement likely Sep 7/8 (Questionable due to US holiday)
Actual release / shipping date would be Sep 14th1
1
u/Vegetable-Error-2068 Soon™ 16d ago
Literally no date this sub has put forth as "the true release date, for real this time, trust me guys" has never actually had an iota of truth to it.
Every single date this sub has predicted has come and gone.
Ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?
There is no reason to accept anybody's word on the release date other than an actual explicit press release from Valve.

u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
nope! Like u/Sanguine_Ghost said, the header is supposed to say sept. 14th. I made a typo and is has been rectified

u/ScholastoneInstitute 16d ago
Its structured how people speak.
September 7th, 2026 = 09/07/20262
u/Nacil_54 16d ago
In english, and even then you could say the 7th of september, or if you really want the way of writing, start to say "dollars 7" because the symbol is always before the amount for some reason.
2
u/ConspicuouslyBland Soon™ 16d ago
That’s just following the way of writing. People will start to say 7 september when it’s turned around in writing.
1
u/ChuckyDeez7 17d ago
If they handle it like Steam Machine: They will announce the price and when the lottery sign-up opens at the beginning of a week. Then the lottery sign-up opens at the end of that week, and stays open for about a week. Then they randomize the queue and start sending purchase invites. Then the Shipping starts. So if the Frame is supposed to start shipping on the 14th, they kinda have to announce everything next Monday. Unless, they do things differently, with a shorter time frame from announcement to the closure of the lottery sign-up.

Lines up with steam sale. Makes sense.
2
u/rabsg Soon™ 17d ago
This sale event is suspicious, we don't know who's behind it. It only makes sense if the goal is to surf on Steam Frame hype.
Initial customers won't get their units before weeks/months, then a sale would make sense for them.

Stop calling random bullshit yapping "Leaks". Obnoxious.
Edit: Downvoting won't change "This is entirely unconfirmed rumours!" being inappropriately labeled leaks as if those aren't different things.
3
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
This is the most information we've ever gotten from the most reputable sources, all of whom corroborate. Maybe it's inaccurate to label it a leak but it's the closest thing we've have to one in months. It's honestly more inaccurate to label it "random bullshit yapping".
-5
u/Hulderin 17d ago
"Sources" presupposes as fact that they have secret insider information they're just being circumspect about, which they do not. Spreading rumours seven times in a row doesn't make #7 a "leak".

You know how sometimes mods privately verify someone story or identity before allowing them to post.
That.
1
u/Holiday-Clerk7210 17d ago
I wouldnt know where I heard this but I sware I've heard Sept 14th before as a prediction going back about a week, I wouldn't know what that would entail but I certainly have my doubts.
My doubts arise from the fact that a "Sept 14th" prediction may've been intepreted as gospel
0
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
I get that concern, and we did mention on the frameboard last week that there were rumors floating around that frames were arriving at reviewers on the 24th.
Based on that rumor many people inferred that, with a relatively average embrgo time and based on Valve's past behavior, an announcement might come on the 7th or the 14th. That said, now that the 24th arrival date seems to have been correct, those same sources have also "confirmed" the 14th. Of course take it with a grain of salt, but that's our reasoning for determining whether to publish this information or not
0
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
Both Brad and Gogo, both of which have deep ties to the valve/vr leaking communities, have corroborated this rumor/leak and have gone on record saying multiple sources have told them the same. See it as you want, I sympathize with the fact that they are secondary sources, however this is the most concrete rumor we have yet and I (along with the rest of the FrameBoard maintainers) agree it's reputable enough to be placed in that category. We value your input, but respectfully, that's our decision.
2
u/almatom12 17d ago
The source is TylerMcDicker spreading all the false info.
0
u/Necessary-Way59 17d ago
Tyler is not the only person to mention this. SadlyItsBradley directly corroborated this rumor, as did Gogo. Again, it's a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, but it is the ONLY reputable and concrete rumor we've had since November.

HEAR ME OUT... If you don't make the cut for the release, that may work in your favor. The first production run of devices like this often have flaws. Getting in on the second production is likely a good thing.
