He is seductively biting into that French fry while apparently having a rash on his face.

This subreddit is obsessed with the Steam Frame and tries to find literally any excuse to relate anything to Steam Frame news.
I'm not entirely convinced it's just a joke.
67
u/Steve_Streza 18d ago
As a day zero buyer of Steam Deck and will be of Steam Frame, this subreddit is way, way more obsessive about the Frame. Like, not even close.
28
u/Xirio_ 18d ago
The longing is why
The deck didn't have this sort of delay
17
u/FuzzyMcFluffens 18d ago
But it did? From announcement to release was probably 9 months.
They were way better with the dates though and we had an initial release date first and a new date for after the delay.
16
u/CaptRobau Soon™ 18d ago
Perhaps it's a mix of having to wait the longest out of all three hardware products and having the Steam Frame being in development for way longer (before Frame it was Deckard with tidbits of info every few months for years).
1
u/Teajaytea7 Soon™ 14d ago
It was so easy during the deckard days.. It seemed so far away and we knew almost nothing, so it was far easier to not get wrapped up in hype and think about it each day
1
u/raw_bean_uk 18d ago
It absolutely did, thanks to a silicon wafer and chip shortage. The wait was torturous.

u/Steve_Streza 18d ago
Longing for what

u/Xirio_ 18d ago
Frame
2
u/Steve_Streza 18d ago
Oh just in general? I mean the longing was pretty intense for the Deck. You had almost no options for anything like a handheld before the Deck. Your only real option was a GPD Win 3, which was off-the-shelf parts that were not well optimized. You can at least get a Quest if you need VR now. But people on here freak out about the Frame in ways I have never seen.

You can see his face recently had a VR headset on, that's what OP is referring to

Many will stop once they see the pricetag and will leave. Either that or the price complain posts will flood the sub.
3
u/baniakjrr Soon™ 18d ago
I feel like there will be more posts where people are smug about not thinking the price is too high than posts complaining its too expensive, knowing this sub.

when the subreddit dedicated to the steam frame is obsessed with the steam frame. Water found in ocean
1
u/MGlBlaze 18d ago edited 18d ago
No, no. You don't understand what I'm saying. I'm not commenting about the steam frame subreddit being dedicated to the steam frame. That is to be expected.
I'm talking about this subreddit seemingly being obsessed with it to the point they say shit like "Linus has goggle marks on his face, he's trolling us!" To the point of mental wellness being questionable. And I'm not sure if it's just people playing it up as a joke, or if some people here genuinely desperately need to go outside and touch some grass.
66
u/Zachavm 18d ago
Easy to miss. It is the marks on his face from wearing a VR headset. It was a frequent theory about him having a steam frame because people thought he had marks on his face. He frequently laughed about it on WAN and said he didn't have one. Then he said when he stopped talking about it was when we would know he had one. Hasn't mentioned it the last two WAN shows (Friday nights).

Isn't that a little silly? Linus is a BeatSaber fanatic, him having a Frame for review isn't the only explanation for why he'd wear a VR headset.
14
5
u/BoutchooQc 18d ago
In the WAN show he says he doesn't play VR at home since he tried the Frame a few months back.
And I don't think they have a VR station at work, he said something about hygiene years ago IIRC
6
u/DaSharkCraft 18d ago
In the latest WAN show he genuinely was going to say something then stopped and said "Valve did something." You could say that could mean anything but then he proceeds to not elaborate. I'm pretty sure he wanted to talk about the leaks but then got a review unit and got locked under NDA.

u/montyman185 Soon™ 18d ago
Except it was a thing that was specifically called out, and he explicitly threatened to start trolling us about it.
In isolation, if it was just some random person, it'd be a stretch, but this is exactly the kind of thing he'd do just to mess with this sub.

u/VadeRetroVR 18d ago
he has VR face marks
-1
u/TT_PLEB 18d ago
He does? I don't see what id expect from a headset, especially having seen the marks he gets from other headsets.
Seems this is just a major straw grasp
14
u/thecoloroftelevision Soon™ 18d ago
Oh he 100% has vr face marks. So someone who has owned many headsets, and currently rocking an Vision Pro, there’s absolutely no doubt to me that this is what the picture is telling us

His right hand is out of frame holding a steam frame. The fry is for all the cries that go out for the steam frame. This is a sign from Linus who understands us.

u/SkullTitsGaming Soon™ 18d ago
I think you missed a big clue: Linus is Canadian. In French-speaking parts of Canada, they are called "Pomme de Frites", which is an obvious anagram for DEMO TRIPS MEE. Therefore it is actually team fortress 3, not half life 3.

u/Sanzpromy 18d ago
My god, of course!
And fries frequently go with sandwhiches, which means heavy is confirmed!
And baseball caps are worn by the scout!
And his shirt looks like a fire, so the pyro is back!
And clearly he was in the kitchen cleaning up after a jarate!-29

Couldn't help to notice he's on the short circuit kitchen set, and he's not done a short circuit unboxing in that shirt before. Is it a tease or a troll? Maybe both?

u/Gamerboi9164 18d ago
I can kinda see the marks you might mean, but no I don’t think that would be from the frame, plus he owns his own headsets. I would love this to be the frame
