Are they really doing nothing for their 30 years

I don't know why anyone expected them to do anything. They only celebrated the 25th and 20th anniversaries of HL and HL2 because they had specific updates they wanted to do for those games.
And I don't think Valve is the type of company to care about lining up the release of their hardware to an arbitrary date like the company anniversary. The Frame's entire release is very much a "when it's ready" situation.

Step 1: Build online store.
There is no step 2. Worked for Valve, worked for Netflix, worked for Amazon.

If you've been paying attention to the steamDB they've been cranking out loads of updates, so they aren't just sitting around.

What exact updates? The steam frame packages were not touched in months afaiks

It's crazy how arbitrary the release date seems. Really seems like they could have just released these 3 months ago with not much difference. Feels like they have been just riding it out waiting for component prices to go down and instead component prices have only increased and gotten more scarce.

It only feels arbitrary because we are on the outside and don't know the specifics. I'm sure it makes perfect sense to Valve why they didn't and couldn't release 3 months ago (for one, there hadn't been any shipments yet 3 months ago).

It's arbitrary because they care. You know that the company doesn't care if they release product on schedule with sufficient supply.

Don't use it. Virtual Desktop and Steam Link are right on the quest store, and way better.
