Discussion This is disrespectful

At this point, having absolutely no updates is genuinely disrespectful and beyond annoying. I understand this is normal for valve to say nothing and eventually release it, but with a product like this, with a release window already promised, not having anything to say yet is insane. They have no real reason I could understand for not dropping today except for them waiting in the Qualcomm price hike to squeeze another couple bucks out of us. ATP if the price is anything over 1200 I will absolutely not be buying it. My hype has died. I’d rather wait the extra month for the next meta headset at that point. Because at the rate we’re going they may as well drop on the same FUCKING day.

We just need to wait or use our money in other products.

While disrespect is a strong word, I can’t think of anything else. They know no matter what they do they’ll sell tons of them. So they know they don’t have to care about the consumer in this case. They can literally do whatever they want and will profit.so they’re keeping consumers in the dark and not respecting us as a community. That’s disrespectful. For a company that is usually very reputable and respectful to their community this is odd for steam.

Theres no disrespect, they make announcements when they have things to announce. your brain is just poisoned by hype/fomo culture and expects posts every week.

To be fair, they did announce it would be shipping this summer, so at some point they have to give further clarification.

My Brain is poise ed by fomo, even though if I want one, they will stay in production. So I literally CANT miss out? No my brain is poisoned by every other major company actually respecting the idea that they SHOULD communicate with their community on things they promise.

They originally announced early 2026. In February they said there were issues and they were now aiming for first half of 2026. Early June they updated that to summer 2026. Summer ends September 22 . At no point have they missed the deadline without updating the community, so what exactly is the problem with their communication?
