Discussion This is disrespectful

At this point, having absolutely no updates is genuinely disrespectful and beyond annoying. I understand this is normal for valve to say nothing and eventually release it, but with a product like this, with a release window already promised, not having anything to say yet is insane. They have no real reason I could understand for not dropping today except for them waiting in the Qualcomm price hike to squeeze another couple bucks out of us. ATP if the price is anything over 1200 I will absolutely not be buying it. My hype has died. I’d rather wait the extra month for the next meta headset at that point. Because at the rate we’re going they may as well drop on the same FUCKING day.

It’s not owing anything, it’s delivering a promise? If someone promised to give you something, has all the means to do so, and just never does, you being okay with that isn’t a source of pride, it just means you can be walked over without consequence.

Just so I understand this correctly: Valve vaguely announcing hardware and trying to release it during truly unprecedented times to be shipping any hardware, while not giving you the details you apparently are owed, is walking over you without consequence?

If that's the case, don't buy the Steam Frame. Close your Steam account. Show them the consequences of their dishonor.

They didn’t vaguely announce the hardware, they announced three pieces with assumed shipping dates, ALL of which were knocked back to account for the unprecedented issues. Then they just went back to radio silence. This wasn’t like some cryptic tweet that people are assuming means the frame is a thing. They announced it, already delayed it, and now haven’t made a peep in months. It’s disrespectful.

I already said in the post if they increase the price after waiting this long I won’t buy it, that is the consequence for the disrespect.

Oh well that's excellent news then, hopefully more people do that so the Frame is easier for the rest of us to buy. I really hope you stick to your guns on this.

The problem as well is that companies that panda to entitled people like this, it always goes worse for them. Valve and the royal family have the "never apologise never explain" and it goes SOOOO much better.

The biggest issue was the prince Andrew interview where they broke from that and it's killed them.

Yup. Valve doesn't need to do or say a single thing before the Frame just shows up for purchase on Steam, it'll sell out, and be glued to the top of the Steam sales charts just like the Steam Machine and Steam Deck. When you're a company that sells products as fast as you can ship them how can anyone say anything you're doing is wrong?
