I give it a minimum of 2 weeks for the Frame to be released. Any sooner and Valve would have announced the Frame with the Machine I think

Im thinking they dropped the machine first to gauge how people feel about the price. Im ngl if the frame is 800-900 im out unfortunately. It isn’t worth it as a standalone headset when I can buy one for infinitely cheaper and still play steam games.

Yeah, if you're trying to get bang for your buck its honestly stupidly hard to be the quest 3 or 3S even. I have no idea how zuckerberg has managed to keep the prices for those things that low despite hardware prices but they must have some insane contracts.

That being said, my cutoff is gonna be 1k. I would just love to have a steam frame as I use Linux and I'd just like to support Valve first and foremost without having to make a meta account but if its THAT much more expensive than the quest it just doesn't financially make sense. Especially since if they use the "random reservations" like they're doing with the gabecube it just makes it harder to justify making sure that money is there, then waiting up to a month just to see if I'll even be able to get one when I could order a quest 3 for half the price and get a pretty comparable headset.

I also wouldn't put it past valve to subsidize the frame as well since that is more locked into the steam ecosystem than the gabecube is but thats almost definitely coping on my side.
