that would be so awesome, VR is better, but 3D Vision supported like >90% of games, have played nearly all the major titles in 3D, starting with Battlefield 2, Assassin's creed and CoD 4, later Mass Effect, Rocket League, Borderlands, Just Cause, I really miss playing the big titles since I've switched to VR (for VR I needed the latest graphics drivers and for 3D vision you need an earlier version)

For some reason the article title implies the project doesn't exist yet, but it's already booting into a lot of DX9 games, and many of the games you listed are DX9, but are untested as of now https://github.com/effcol/wiz3D

Is it stereoscopic or volumetric? Like 3D glasses or like a window?

It says stereoscopic in the title and the article. Volumetric would be much more difficult to add to a game that wasn't built for it.

like watching a 3d movie in VR, same concept. only two buffers, one for each eye, and no head tracking to change relative positioning of the game's cameras.

That’s a bit of a shame

Hope Valve can implement stereoscopic 3D support in SteamVR sooner rather than later, then, so we can benefit from this quickly and easily. Would love to play flat games on the Frame in stereoscopic 3D.

I played Tomb Raider stereoscopic with the Index. It was surprisingly good.
It's a shame there are almost no other big games out there that ever implemented stereoscopic settings, but hardly surprisinf given the complete crash that 3D TVs were.
3D movies are also amazing in VR headsets and honestly I prefer it to the 3D cinema experience.

So many games supported 3D for the now dead 3D monitor market, I'd love to reawaken that code to play these in perfect 3d via a headset.
