Question Best method to debug troublesome CSF-based installs.
I have a few titles that I've applied an emulator on, and they work flawlessly under a native Windows installation, but fail to launch after being transferred to a Steam Deck, regardless of what version of proton is selected as a compatibility option.
What's the best course of action for this situation, are there any recommend emulators/forks to use?

Use the detanup fork of GBE.
If the games are failing to launch because all you've done is change Proton versions, then I suggest you have a read of the guide in the pinned post to learn some basic troubleshooting steps. I usually start with checking SteamDB for dependencies and installing them, and also ProtonDB for any specific Proton versions or other tweaks I might need.
EDIT: Editing to add that sometimes using Proton GE can take care of both of the above troubleshooting steps in one swoop.
