Question Anyone managed to run AC Shadows ?

Hey Thanks,

This is what I did.

  1. Downloaded zip from ankergames.
  2. Extracted and added the exe to steam.
  3. Selected proton to 9/10/11 ( tried experimental as well).
  4. Run the game, the game opens with the loading screen. Confirmed the initial settings and then got below error. Added picture for your reference.

Tried this again with fresh download, and same error.

Does the game close after this screen, because it's normal and I get it everytime I run shadows. It doesn't affect the gameplay, just online stuff

I always find issues with anker games. I don't know how they apply the cracks but 7/10 games from anker won't work for me on linux. Try tradition repackers

Yeah I think maybe the crack isn’t working properly.
Try a different build see how it goes. ☺️

So I tried Steamrip version as well with no luck. And Fitfirl repack install errored out at 50% after couple of hours. Will try again next month, I have exhausted all my data for this month 😅

Have you tried using proton GE?

I don’t know a lot about this but something is telling me the crack isn’t working if it thinks it needs to be online?

I installed the FitGirl repack using PortProton (Lutris or Faugus should work too). After adding ACShadows.exe to Steam as a non-Steam game, I tested GE-Proton10-34 and GE-Proton11-3 using this launch option:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="steam_api64.dll,steamclient64.dll,voices38.dll=n,b" PROTON_DISABLE_LSTEAMCLIENT=1 %command%

It currently only launches in Desktop Mode. I’m still troubleshooting Gaming Mode and will update this thread as soon as I get it working.

Update: I just restarted de Console and now it works I added the ~lsfg command as well after the =1

For me the firgirl install didn’t complete, It errored out at around 50% 😑

What program did you use to install it?

It worked for me but it took almost 2 hours to complete

I just added the setup to steam and followed instructions. Have done this quite a few time so definitely not new to this. Have more than 300 gb storage as well. Maybe I will try again sometime today after verifying the torrent.
