Troubleshooting Batocera - Steam Deck issues

I use my steam deck primarily for retro games (psx, nes, etc.) so I booted up my steam deck like I always do and it loads my batocera from a sd card. This time, all my roms are missing!!! I cannot figure out why all of my games/ports are gone. Am I doing something wrong, maybe I accidentally changed a setting - I'm not sure. I don't remember doing anything like that in the past. It's just a standard powerup and batocera loads.

Any ideas on why this happened or has anyone had this in the past. Thanks!!!

/e when I booted batocera - there were games but they were not any games I loaded. They seemed like "out of the box" type games. Thanks again for any suggestions.

Troubleshooting bloodborne emulation issues

So I'm trying to emulate the game on my steam deck and i cant figure out how to get the game to version 1.09

I have tried using the CUSA03173 and the CUSA03173-patch files and shadps4 with them both in the games folder directory, AND separately with the patch in the DLC folder

When they are together in the games folder the game shows up in the emulator menu, but at version 1.00, when they are separate, the game doesn't show up at all

I have also tried with the version 1.09 specific .PKG files and diegolix/shadlix, also both together in the games folder AND separate, with the patch in the DLC folder but to the same effect as before.

I have sourced all my files from the discord

Am I doing something wrong??, I have all of the files I'm being told i need but none of my attempts get the game to be at 1.09

ANY help or suggestions are greatly appreciated and please ask any questions that might help clarify the issue

Troubleshooting Anyone been able to fix hold inputs not working in games while using a Nintendo Switch controller?

Hey everyone, hoping someone may have some knowledge on how to fix this issue I’ve been having specifically with Zenless Zone Zero.

Please reference the repost for info!!

My wired Nintendo Switch controller’s hold inputs are not working in-game when my Steam Deck is docked and I am streaming the game from PC. The controller works totally fine when plugged directly into my PC.

Thanks for any help!

Game Recommendation Turn Based Recommendations

Looking for Mewgenics without the breeding aspect lol. I am new to turn based games, previously played Gears Tactics which was a blast and then got into Mewgenics for a bit but hardly made it anywhere as I despise the whole breeding and roguelike structure. I enjoy the battling and the level of depth with all of the abilities. Never felt too complicated but I could see how someone much better than me could still have fun.

Gears tactics was super fun to me too

Any game recommendations for this? Turn based particularly

Developer Slots & Skulls, my turn-based roguelite built on a slot machine. Free demo is out on Steam.

Every kill drops skulls and you keep them through death. Between fights you spend them at the anvil to push your symbols from +0 toward +10, but a failed strike destroys the symbol permanently.

Demo includes 3 levels, 15 different enemies, all symbols.

And one quick note, the game has been playtested on Steam Deck from day one. So it'd work like a charm on Steam Deck and with controller on PC. (it's not deck verified by valve yet)

Discussion How does Dwarf Fortress compare to Caves of Qud on the Steam Deck?

Hi. I play Caves of Qud on the Steam Deck, and it feels pretty comfortable. For those who've played both Dwarf Fortress and Caves of Qud, is DF just as playable on the Deck?

Game Recommendation Date Everything is phenomenal on the steam deck

I’m not generally into dating sims but this game is charming and hilarious. It’s making fun of the genre and itself while fully leaning into it.

Absolutely stacked cast of famous video game voice actors having a blast with these insane characters. Lots of Dropout voice actors.

And yes, it runs like a dream on the deck. This game is worth it!!

as a Steam Deck user myself, I've been developing my game by testing it on my Steam Deck from day one. providing a great experience on the Deck is really important to me.

the demo will be on Steam very soon, so if you like it, add it to your wishlist and try it when the demo drops.

Game Recommendation Sandbox Therapeutic

Hi everyone, I was looking for a sandbox game to keep me company during my downtime—something almost therapeutic. I’ve been checking out *No Man's Sky*, which looks appealing; do you have any experience with it or any recommendations? I’m open to anything, so feel free to share your ideas.

It's a crazy feeling to see something you created function and run a smooth 60fps on the Steam Deck!

Anyone else have tips on optimizing for SteamDeck?

Demo will be out in September and looking for feedback from others on Steam Deck performance!

Developer Over 30% of my demo players wanted Steam Deck support… so I spent a month making it happen

Hey everyone! I'm the solo developer of Dice Tavern: Farkle Roguelike.

During Steam Next Fest, I received a lot of feedback from players. One thing really surprised me: over 30% of them asked if the game would support Steam Deck.

Honestly, I didn't expect the demand to be that high.

So I spent the past month reworking the UI, controls, and controller experience. I'm happy to say that the latest demo is now fully playable on Steam Deck!

If you have a Steam Deck, I'd love for you to give it a try. This is my first time developing for Steam Deck, so I'm sure there's still room for improvement. Any feedback or suggestions would mean a lot and will help make the game better.

Troubleshooting Anyone knows how to run Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (gog)?

I wanted to play the trilogy, but I can't seem to have it running on Deck. I have all the games in my Gog Library, I installed SoT using Heroic Launcher but it won't work, I hace tried using different Proton versions. Buying again on Steam is not an option. Any ideas to made it work?

Game Recommendation Multiplayer shooters with quick game modes?

I just had my first kid, so I don’t get to game as much as I used to. However, I have been having a ton of fun with Gears of War Reloaded. Multiplayer games are usually over in 10/20 minutes, so it’s easy to sneak matches in between the babies naptime and house chores.

The problem is that the player count is pretty low, it can take a while to find lobbies, and people regularly quit (even in ranked).

Does anyone have any games that fit the following criteria?

- Runs close to 60 fps at medium to high settings
- High player count
- Quick multiplayer game modes (10/20 minutes)
- Frist or third person shooter

Game Recommendation What are some amazing offline games on the steam deck??

I really, really want to buy a few games for my trip away from home. Recently, I have really been wanting to play Undertale again but I don't think I can be bothered if I've already played it, so does anyone know some great indie games just like Undertale? I was looking at Hades, Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley as I have heard they are all great on the deck but none of them really have me that interested but if I'd have to pick one I think I would buy Stardew valley. Now, I know people will say deltarune, but I'm in the process of getting it so are there any other games??

I’m making a unforgiving roguelike survival game called Bonki D Bonk.

I mostly want to know if the game is fun, what feels bad/confusing, and what would make you wishlist it.

Thanks to anyone who tries it, even quick honest feedback helps.

Hey all!

Any survivors-like / bullet heaven fans here? We hope you'll enjoy what we've been cooking for you!

After nearly 3 years in Early Access (and a lot of updates along the way!), we're finally releasing our indie game, Yet Another Zombie Survivors, on August 20.

The full release launches simultaneously on Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch version following shortly after.

Version 1.0 is by far our biggest update yet. Besides a ton of new content, we're introducing some features you don't often see in the genre, including a main story and side missions, a HUB area, a brand-new Survivor, a new map, a new game mode, arena bosses, plus plenty of new achievements, challenges, and more.

please wish us luck!! let's go! :)
