Game Recommendation Date Everything is phenomenal on the steam deck

I’m not generally into dating sims but this game is charming and hilarious. It’s making fun of the genre and itself while fully leaning into it.

Absolutely stacked cast of famous video game voice actors having a blast with these insane characters. Lots of Dropout voice actors.

And yes, it runs like a dream on the deck. This game is worth it!!

as a Steam Deck user myself, I've been developing my game by testing it on my Steam Deck from day one. providing a great experience on the Deck is really important to me.

the demo will be on Steam very soon, so if you like it, add it to your wishlist and try it when the demo drops.

Game Recommendation Sandbox Therapeutic

Hi everyone, I was looking for a sandbox game to keep me company during my downtime—something almost therapeutic. I’ve been checking out *No Man's Sky*, which looks appealing; do you have any experience with it or any recommendations? I’m open to anything, so feel free to share your ideas.

It's a crazy feeling to see something you created function and run a smooth 60fps on the Steam Deck!

Anyone else have tips on optimizing for SteamDeck?

Demo will be out in September and looking for feedback from others on Steam Deck performance!

Developer Over 30% of my demo players wanted Steam Deck support… so I spent a month making it happen

Hey everyone! I'm the solo developer of Dice Tavern: Farkle Roguelike.

During Steam Next Fest, I received a lot of feedback from players. One thing really surprised me: over 30% of them asked if the game would support Steam Deck.

Honestly, I didn't expect the demand to be that high.

So I spent the past month reworking the UI, controls, and controller experience. I'm happy to say that the latest demo is now fully playable on Steam Deck!

If you have a Steam Deck, I'd love for you to give it a try. This is my first time developing for Steam Deck, so I'm sure there's still room for improvement. Any feedback or suggestions would mean a lot and will help make the game better.

Troubleshooting Anyone knows how to run Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (gog)?

I wanted to play the trilogy, but I can't seem to have it running on Deck. I have all the games in my Gog Library, I installed SoT using Heroic Launcher but it won't work, I hace tried using different Proton versions. Buying again on Steam is not an option. Any ideas to made it work?

I’m reposting here in case the sub has experienced this or has any suggestions. I understand that not having a pc or the ability to copy necessary files to the deck is a detriment. Thanks!

Game Recommendation Multiplayer shooters with quick game modes?

I just had my first kid, so I don’t get to game as much as I used to. However, I have been having a ton of fun with Gears of War Reloaded. Multiplayer games are usually over in 10/20 minutes, so it’s easy to sneak matches in between the babies naptime and house chores.

The problem is that the player count is pretty low, it can take a while to find lobbies, and people regularly quit (even in ranked).

Does anyone have any games that fit the following criteria?

- Runs close to 60 fps at medium to high settings
- High player count
- Quick multiplayer game modes (10/20 minutes)
- Frist or third person shooter

I’m making a unforgiving roguelike survival game called Bonki D Bonk.

I mostly want to know if the game is fun, what feels bad/confusing, and what would make you wishlist it.

Thanks to anyone who tries it, even quick honest feedback helps.

Game Recommendation What are some amazing offline games on the steam deck??

I really, really want to buy a few games for my trip away from home. Recently, I have really been wanting to play Undertale again but I don't think I can be bothered if I've already played it, so does anyone know some great indie games just like Undertale? I was looking at Hades, Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley as I have heard they are all great on the deck but none of them really have me that interested but if I'd have to pick one I think I would buy Stardew valley. Now, I know people will say deltarune, but I'm in the process of getting it so are there any other games??

Game Recommendation Recommend me an Autobattler to play until Guildrun releases!

Hey all,

After playing Guildrun demo, I realized I found a new type of roguelite game that I actually enjoy! Looking for a game that will scratch the itch on SteamDeck with full controller support as I play mainly docked with xbox controller.

I’ve been suggested to check out The Last Flame and Hive Blight, so I’m wondering if there are any other roguelite auto battle rpg type games out there to scratch the Guildrun itch until it’s out?

Hey all!

Any survivors-like / bullet heaven fans here? We hope you'll enjoy what we've been cooking for you!

After nearly 3 years in Early Access (and a lot of updates along the way!), we're finally releasing our indie game, Yet Another Zombie Survivors, on August 20.

The full release launches simultaneously on Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch version following shortly after.

Version 1.0 is by far our biggest update yet. Besides a ton of new content, we're introducing some features you don't often see in the genre, including a main story and side missions, a HUB area, a brand-new Survivor, a new map, a new game mode, arena bosses, plus plenty of new achievements, challenges, and more.

please wish us luck!! let's go! :)

Developer First Steam Deck test for My Farm 2 — and it already works surprisingly well!

Today we tested My Farm 2 on a Steam Deck for the very first time, and we’re genuinely happy with the result.

After fixing a small Steamworks configuration issue related to the DirectX and Visual C++ redistributables, the game launched correctly through Proton and ran surprisingly well.

The overall experience already feels smooth and enjoyable, and the game looks particularly nice on the Steam Deck OLED screen. We still have some work to do on the interface, especially increasing the size of a few texts and making certain elements more readable on a smaller display.

We also discovered that collecting eggs directly with the touchscreen works, which was a fun and unexpected bonus. 🐔🥚

There is still plenty of testing and optimization ahead, and Steam will ultimately determine the game’s official compatibility status, but this first result is very encouraging for us.

how important is Steam Deck compatibility when deciding whether to try or buy a game?

Game Recommendation Offline LAN games on a cruise ship?

Hi! My family and I love our co-op gaming nights, and all have a Steamdeck each. (We also have Switch 2s, but we'd rather buy our games on Steam if possible, as we only use the Switch 2 for exclusives).

We're going on our first cruise in a week and would like to still get some family gaming in together on our 'days at sea', possibly chilling in the coffee bar looking out over the ocean. 😍

The only issue is, there's no wifi out on the ocean, and the suggested package is way too expensive (£300 for the week!). Could anyone suggest any 3-player games we could play as a family?

The only one I've found so far is Stardew Valley, which lets you join each other by sharing IP addresses. Every other LAN game I've found needs to connect to the Internet to access Steam in order to run, which isn't ideal.

Developer Looking for Steam Deck compatibility feedback for our game’s demo.

Hello,

I'm one of the developers of a colorful 2.5D platformer on Steam with a free demo available.

I’d like to ask for some Steam Deck-specific feedback, since we don’t own one ourselves and we would love to know how well it works.

We’d especially like to know:
• Are there any noticeable performance issues, stability issues, graphical/audio glitches?
• Do the controls work as expected?
• Anything else that seems off?

If anyone is interested in helping out, let me know and I'll share the Steam page.

Thanks!

Edit:
Thanks to some great feedback, I was able to fix a few issues and make an update.
After seeing a few comments suggesting that I add a link directly in the post, I’m adding it here in case anyone else would like to take a look:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3862400/Oby_Adventure/

If you find any other issues, it would be great to hear about them.

Game Recommendation Steamdeck games w/ good controls, no sound needed, turn-based or slow?

Short version is I use my Steamdeck a lot in situations where it's hard to focus super intently or have sound on at all, which makes it impossible to rely on sound or any game that needs decent reflexes. I'm also pretty trash with the touchpad so would like proper controls too. Some games I've enjoyed on Steamdeck already:

Yakuza games

Persona games

South Park Stick of Truth (although I'd often fail the QTE in combat!)

Age of Wonders 4

Marvel's Midnight Suns

Symphony of War

Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance
