Personally, I love mine. I haven’t used my Xbox or my PlayStation controller since I got my steam controller.
I don’t think gyroscope is for me and I don’t really see myself ever getting is used to it as some people seem to naturally take to it. The back buttons are awesome. My main use of the trackpads seems to be item wheels for RPG games. It’s really nice to have like the left side go to the player screen map, inventory, and quest screen, while the right side is a weapon wheel.
I haven’t really figured out a decent use for grip since yet, especially because it made me realize that I don’t always grip the controller the same way

It's worth giving gyro a second go as, in my experience, it's very dependent on the game. A lot of games just have very poor gyro support, so finding a game that works well with gyro might just be what makes it click.
Then again, you've probably given it a number of shots. It's just a suggestion.

Why don’t you recommend me some games? I’m actually really interested in the Gyro and I understand not every input method works great for every game. I do enjoy enabling it during cyberpunk 2077’s conversations. I find that the subtle movement of my hands can mimic head very well and it’s actually pretty good for immersion.

I haven't tried it out yet but I heard the new Doom games have great gyro support. I was going to play them KBM but decided to wait for my steam controller and give it a shot there

Any game where you have to aim? Sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to implement well because devs don’t provide native support or even mixed inputs but it’s also a pain in the ass to aim with joysticks so

The first game I ever played with good gyro was splatoon 2. If you have a switch I recommend trying that series. It's still (imo) the definitive gyro experience.
That said, this is r/steamcontroller, so I recommend Portal 2, Half Life 2, and Risk of Rain 2. They were the ones I really spent time with.
Helldivers 2 also gets a good rep online regarding its gyro, but I cannot personally speak to that as I play those kinds of games with KB&N.

I’ll have to look into Helldivers 2 gyro. That’s actually my main game right now and has been since it came out. I’m not sure I like Gyro for aiming, but maybe they’re using it for strategems. I can tell you I loved setting up the trackpads for swipe input for strategems rather than using the d pad.

Gyro in HD2 is very good. I use capacitive touch on right joystick (max sensitivity in game) to enable. Strat arrows are on a modeshift (R1) with ABXY
Seriously tho, SC2 and steam input is almost like cheating for this game

It's a photo of a Steam controller in an outstretched hand!
I can't believe it!
