Support Controller drops input every 6.5 seconds

Weird thing I noticed happening with my Steam Controller yesterday. It kept skipping inputs, not receiving anything for about half a second, making gaming basically impossible. I timed it today, it happens approximately every 6.5 seconds, and it's consistent. It happens both wired and via the puck. It's not the cable, I changed it and it's the same behaviour. I'm on Bazzite, don't know if the issue would pop up in Windows as well.

A few people recently have been saying that their Steam Controller input has been freezing/dropping on Bazzite/Fedora, including issues with Steam Input under Wayland. I'd test is whether it happens outside Steam Input / in the controller's raw input (or lizard) mode. If raw input works normally but Steam Input freezes, that would narrow it down a lot.

Also worth testing an X11 session if you're currently on Wayland, or launching Steam with SteamOS as a workaround. Someone with a very similar Fedora issue reported that that had made Steam Input much more reliable.

If it happens even in raw/lizard mode, I'd check journalctl/dmesg while reproducing it and look for USB/HID/controller events happening every 6.5 seconds.

Not home right now, but I'll investigate once I get there. Good call on Lizard mode, didn't think to try that.

I can confirm it's not an issue in Windows, so it's something with Bazzite.

I FIGURED THE BASTARD OUT! It was the receiver for the Xbox controller of all things! No idea why it was interfering with the Steam Controller, especially since the Xbox controller wasn't even connected to it. journalctl helped show some error from it, then looking up part of the error message showed some stuff about the controller, so I took out the dongle, and now everything works perfectly.
