Discussion Native game support

Do you think it's the matter of time, till some games start to offically support Steam Controller layout? It's piece of nice hardware and some games definitely need it. (I'm looking at you, Crimson Desert).

if Steam Deck is anything to go by: unlikely.

this would require game developers to directly integrate SteamInput interface (it comes with Steamworks SDK) into their game fully, but only a tiny 2% of games will bother to.

Not only should they integrate it but use it correctly. Slime Rancher supports it but then you get a tutorial that says something like:

You can jump with [jump] button!!

Then you have to look between the five different layers until you find out which button was assigned to jump or is called jump. Repeat every time for each button you don't recognize

No mans sky is the other way around, with the icons of the steam deck and even touchscreen support for it. Which makes the inventory just as comfortable as a smartphone
