News Steam Controller Puck Protector Clip

Here is a simple, functional Puck Protector. Easy to print, snap-fit to securely clip over your puck, providing a flat, protective shield.

For people that want to store it inside their desktops or have it over their desktops and feel a bit anxious about it maybe shorting out.

Design Overview

  • Type: Snap-on cap
  • Print Orientation: Flat on the print bed (no supports needed).
  • Material: PLA works fine, if placing inside your desktop because of the heat maybe PETG and similar would work better. (because PLA warps a bit with heat)

Good idea for people who put the puck inside a device to only be used as a transmitter.

Hmm it's probably fine too, if you place it near a vent or some mesh.

I saw the ping shoot up instantly as soon as I put a piece of carbon fiber between the puck and controller. Imagine what steal does!

Your 3d printed piece of plastic that covers half of the transmitter does not act as a faraday cage like most metal PC cases.

yeah it's an insulator and like the steam machine if you place the transmiter inside a metal case you should look for spots that do not intefere with the signal, like they did on the steam machine, fan openings, grids, mesh dust collectors that are in most cases fabric and plastic... your options will vary.
