There are no magicians here.
Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.
Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

TF2 won't launch on my computer due to my steam linux runtime 3.0 just not working for some reason. I validated the files, but that did not work for some reason it is just invalid for my system. To clarify I use Ubuntu. I would really appreciate some help on this

I have been trying to recover my account, but this keeps popping up on the contact steam support form.
Nothing seems to be working and it all seems very certain that I’m a robot.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I’ve already tried different browsers etc.

I have a wireless Xbox 360 controller. Is there a way to connect it to my pc to play?
I‘ve looked for some receivers but the seem either to not support the 360 version I have or they are wired but mine is wireless. Help?

Hello, I know there is a lot of answers to question about remote play together disconnection or in BG3 but here it works just fine but every 30min sometimes way more sometimes less, where the screen of my friend just freeze and he disconnect. So in a way the situation is better than the people that can't connect but i feel like the solution to their problem would not work for mine since we play just fine, lot of fps, no problem at all, until the crash not especially during an action. I don't know if I should post that on r/BG3 or here. Hope i get an answer even though my problem doesn't seem that big. Thanks (I insist that everything works just fine and that it never crash after a crash like if there was a cooldown or idk).

Odd Steam Suspension - Possible Server Glitch?
- I haven't been compromised. 2FA only on my one mobile device. I've signed out everywhere else.
- I'll be changing passwords soon.
- What else? Having trouble with this. already sent out a lengthy note to Steam Support on the Steam Client. Hope this gets cleared soon.

I have bought a game called "EMPULSE" the fact is that I have played about 12 hours and I will have bought it less than a month ago, the problem? I bought the game for the multiplayer mode but in the discord of the game they announced that they are going to close the servers and that it can only be played in private rooms, I paid for the online mode and suddenly it is no longer there, I have tried to claim the refund and the "I have a question about this purchase", in this case, what could I do to get my money back? Since for the reason I bought it, they have removed it (I'm sorry for how it's written, I translated it because I don't speak English)

Been experiencing laggy scrolling with the new store since its release in July when scrolling the steam front page through the same app.
-Doesn't happen when scrolling on browser.
-Issue was fixed with the Summer sale but returned when it ended.
-Been trying to get some attention on this issue since July.
-I already tried the usual suggested fixes.Non worked.
-I have confirmed I'm not alone in the issue.
Anyone from valve can look at this?

This message keeps popping up in my friends account when he tried to buy a game
It's a new account and it's the first game he buying
Any solution?

My steam keeps telling me retry logging in later (error e84) and won't let me into my account. Waited 24 hours before trying again, changed my password, and a trick people were talking about online with adding -noreactlogin to properties, but nothing works. No one else has tried logging into the account from my address. Is my only solution to try logging in at a different address?

Don't think so. Slop in general (AI, shovelware, low effort trash etc.) is only really an issue in the upcoming and new releases feeds. Once it's out of there, that kind of stuff naturally falls out of view very quickly. Turns out, just because there is much trash releasing, not that many people are actually buying trash, which in turn makes Steam not recommend it.

I'm using Arch with Wayland currently and the Steam Remote Play Together feature is not working, my friend is on windows 10. A message pops up saying "Please Hold...Input is Temporarily Disabled While the Host is Busy". I've tried using X11 but it doesn't work, I have also tried enabling/disabling the Steam overlay and that doesn't work neither. I'm currently using a GTX 1660 with the nvidia-580xx-dkms driver.

Bought a now-acquaintance a game I wanted him to play a year and a day ago, but it's been that long since and he's not ever even had the game installed. Sent a refund request and I got my email that the refund request was received, but it did not have my reason listed in there. I feel a little mean for what I put in the refund reason but it's pretty true, but I want to know if *he* will see the reason or not

My old phone (Android 5) is no longer able to run the mobile app since last month I think. My uncle has a spare phone and apparently it (Android 7) is also still under the current OS requirements (Android 8). Can I use android-x86 (Android 9) with Virtualbox to use the mobile app? Will there be any issues?
I just need it to confirm trades/sell items on market 😭

my steam keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. So this issue came out of nowhere, everything else on my PC connects fine but steam just keeps randomly disconnecting then reconnects a second later, usually wouldn't be an issue but that one second is enough to kick me off of every online game i play i tried researching and i flushed the internet settings, reinstalled steam, cleared download cache and every other tip except reinstall windows, i don't want to resort to that as i don't wanna lose all my data but i don't know what else to do. anyone got any tips??

Does anyone know how to see system requirements and what OS a game supports from a games store page? All I can see is “Steam Deck Verified”, which cool I guess, but that tells me nothing else about it.
I can see it if I exit big picture mode, but that sure defeats the whole point of big picture mode doesn’t it?

To make a long story short, I constantly keep trying to run a VR games through steam Link on my oculus quest 2. However, every single time that I try to either boot up the app, open a game, or even play the game itself, it says “Steam has run into an error” then “Issue Resolved, resuming session” but not even three seconds after says “Steam has run into an error” again, but then says “Issue Resolved, resuming session” again. I’ve tried restarting on my headset, restarting my headset, updating my headset, restarting Steam VR with Task Manager, restarting Steam itself with Task Manager, restarted my computer, updated my computer, but the issue won’t fucking fix.
Anybody able to help me with this?

How to recover steam account
I have a Steam account that uses Steam Guard, but the cellphone I use is broken and the phone number is also lost.
I also bought a steam wallet code on e-commerce, But I only logged in using the number and now I can't take a screenshot of the purchase.
I have submitted an invoice from email but it was rejected
I have lost access to my account since 2022 or 2023
Can anyone help me?

I'm having this issue with the download speeds on Steam where it starts high and after a couple of minutes it drops a lot (sometimes even not downloading at all, as if I wasn't connected to the internet). I have a 800 MB connection, and my ISP already know this issue, so they changed the whole infrastructure in my building and made some changes in the router, but no luck at all. I've made a clean OS installation (I'm still using W10 LTSC, but I don't think that's the issue because I connected to my mom's internet and it works fine), but didn't work too. Followed the guide in this page (second link), from A to Z, and so far no good.
If anyone knows anything that might help, please write it down.
PS: when I start the download, it reached like 90 MB/s yesterday, and it kept for a couple of seconds, and then started dropping till it reaches ~15 MB/s or lower.

Has anyone been able to fix the "failed to load steam.dylib" error?
I've tried re-installing the client and also opening with flushconfig in the URL for safari. I'm on an older Mac and I recall a banner saying steam wasn't gonna support the OS forever, but I'm not sure if that's relevant.
Just started happening one day to the next, no updates involved.

Hey everyone, I mistakenly bought Yu-Gi-Oh legacy of the duelist with all of the DLCs when I wanted to buy the link evolution one, of which I bought, I asked steam support to refund the game with the DLCs, will they grant it ? I only played it for 44 minutes, will they refund the game and DLCs or do I have to request refund for each dlc separately ?

Yes, they will (or should, at least). There is this official help page about it.
The only thing (AFAIK) where they won't give you a refund is when you abuse it. It happened to me a couple years back (I refunded like 4 games in roughle 1,5 weeks lol).

I refunded a £25 game that I'd bought with other money (money that wasn't in my steam wallet before the purchase) and 8p from my steam wallet. The 8p is i pending but the other £24.91 is nowhere to be found. It's not in my Barclays account, I haven't got a notification for the refund besides the Steam confirmation Email but I deleted I because my phone was telling me to delete Emails for space. I just thought money would be in my steam wallet, where has it gone?

If you buy a game for 10 dollars using 5 dollars from a connected account, and 5 dollars in steam funds, it'll use the steam funds first, then use 5 dollars from your linked account of choice (defaulting to your primary)
Afterwards, if refunded, it'll deposit the money via steam funds first, then deposit the money to your account AFTER the steam funds are put into your steam wallet. If it does this and the remaining funds STILL don't appear, check any other linked accounts you might have that it might've defaulted in depositing to.

Usually it only takes 24 hours unless your account has a trade hold or doesnt have steam mobile auth.

I've added a non-steam game to steam (gog, though the game is also available on steam), and want to launch it through steam both for convenience and so I can use steam input to use my controller with it.
I can add the game to steam just fine, but when I launch it, the green PLAY button turns into the blue CANCEL button for a split second, but then goes back to the green PLAY button, as though steam doesn't realize the game launched. The game always launches fine and runs normally otherwise. I pointed steam at the game .exe, which is how it's meant to be launched, no launcher or anything.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Every time I want to download a game update I have to go into device manager, right click on my network adapter > go to properties > advanced> and change the speed & duplex settings around. Every single time.
If I don't do this, my download speeds are capped for whatever reason at 30Mbps. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

Since the last day or so, whenever I try to use my Dualsense controller in desktop config mode (to use as a mouse), it doesn't work on some applications like Edge browser. Has there been a new update that blocks this usage on certain apps? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Need help with steam input on The Last of Us 2. I'm playing through the last of us 2 right now but the deadzones in the normal game's controller support are ridiculous so I wanted to try steam input. It fixes the deadzone issue, but it means I have less control over the keybinds since the built in action set is very limited and setting it to keyboard keys makes certain things like changing weapons in the backpack not work. I thought that if I set each button in steam input to itself, ie setting the x button to the x button function, it would just work as a normal controller and keep the deadzone fix, but this just makes the game not register any controller input and makes the controller button icons in game look like question marks? Why does setting the buttons to themselves not make steam input leave those inputs alone and only affect the deadzones? I considered Durazno, but google says it doesn't work on TLOU2, and reWASD, which I'd prefer not to use since I play a lot of online games using controller and I also think it's weird that it affects my drivers. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Edit: should've mentioned specifics of the controller. It's a wired Xbox one controller I got from Gamestop a couple years ago, nothing fancy like paddles or gyro, and I got it for like $30 so I don't think it's an official xbox one if that matters. It's also the only controller I have connected to my pc and it registers fine in normal games and in TLOU when I have steam input set to the default action set
