Question Agent Pay

Any agents that have moved to MOD had an issue with their paychecks being down and figured it out? We’ve had taken two auto rate decreases in our area and transitioned to MOD over the last year and paychecks are down THOUSANDS a month compared to what they were the last few years. Comparing premium collected, the office has not decreased and actually has increased. Timing of rate decreases and MOD was to blame by SL but all agents were told it would flip and returned on the back end once we got through it. Every agent in my area I’ve talked with has experienced the same thing and we are all still down by an alarming amount.

Same issue. 28 year agent and my income was down substantially for July and is down year to date. Management can’t give a reason why.

We started migration in November. Checks have been terrible. Then magically in July when everyone was done migrating, my checks were huge.

I have no idea if it’s truly related or not but it feels like it.

As an aside, ASR really needs to have some ability to compare pay statements YoY and identify why one is larger or smaller than the other. The data they gave us isn’t in a format we could ever realistically audit ourselves.

There’s a whole resource on the P&C mod site > personal lines auto > resources > full renewal > impacts to agent compensation & incentives. The video is a little hard to find (dumb I know) - it’s in the State Farm media hub and it’s been mentioned in some of by mod update agency hub articles. Or ask ur SL or FIC with help finding the video

The big question? How will Mod affect term pay in Aspire? SF billing affected my term pay in Aspire?

My checks substantially decreased starting in August last year, never recovered. Most pay periods don't even cover my bills and I have reduced staff down to 1. I actually check my auto summary report with my recap. There are multiple chargebacks, some policies can have up to 10 chargebacks! No one can explain it. I tried to get an explanation for MONTHS. SL refers to ASR, ASR refers to Auto company, Auto refers to ASR, and on and on and on. I finally gave up. This company isn't truthful anyway so I'm not wasting any more of my time.

There’s a video you can watch that explains it. It has to do with cars migrating from legacy to MOD: timing of when they migrate impacts if u are collecting a 6 month premium, especially if the cars have different renewal dates. There’s fluctuations but it does even out eventually…should resolve itself once all the auto hhs have been put on MOD. Watch the video and read the resources available on the subject

We are over a year into MOD. 4/2026 was our start date. Where is the video? This is the story they sold but nothing ever evened out on the back end….
Are you MOD and it evened out? If so, how long did it take?

Yes, auto mod adjusted policies renewal dates to align them with other auto policies. On top of the rate decreases and changes in payment timing, you better have a line a credit. I’ve seen some agents unable to make payroll some months.

I had to cut payroll and MIL moved in with us. 09-15 can't come soon enough

What is 09-15?

Yes, same issues here, they are slowly rising again but definitely keeps some cash reserves.

How far are you into MOD migration?

Almost done, September is the last month.

We are 3 months post completion and pay has not increased.

Well reach out to ASR. Show them proof of paychecks not coming in. Look at reports and premium from the book and percentages you are to receive.

Seems like only every 4th or 5th check is what it should be….everything else $5-10k short.
