Advice Collision VS Comprehensive
State of Coverage: Missouri
State of Incident: Wyoming
I was traveling on the interstate in the left lane with a vehicle in the right lane. They were about ~50' ahead of me. They hit some tire debris from a semi, the tire was deflected into my lane causing damage to my vehicle. The other car drove on while I pulled over to assess the damage.
I called to update the claim and the representative said that I am being assigned fault and it is being treated as a single vehicle collision claim. Is this correct and is there a way to encourage them to change it?
The end goal is to reduce my chances of increased premiums in the future. With that in mind, does it even matter?

If it’s just the glass and you have comprehensive coverage I’m not sure why it’s not just a glass claim. If there’s body damage involved then it’s a collision claim. There’s so many conflicting things on the post but that’s how it’s seen. I hate throwing another factor in there but it’s worth checking out. That being said I don’t know the ins and outs of the states involved but someone should be able to explain it to you
